📋 Description

• The SRE / Network Engineer (MAAS) role is critical to maintaining and scaling a decentralized, energy-efficient cloud infrastructure platform that serves as a sovereign alternative to traditional cloud providers, enabling high-performance compute for modern workloads.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining core Linux-based infrastructure, managing hardware-level systems (BIOS, IPMI, RAID), designing and operating scalable networks with VLANs, routing, and UniFi equipment, automating provisioning via Ansible and MAAS, setting up observability stacks (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/Graylog), building OS deployment tooling (PXE, Preseed, Cloud-init), integrating internal and external APIs for resource tracking, and supporting virtualization and container orchestration platforms like OpenStack, Proxmox, and VMware.
• The company is a European deep-tech innovator developing a distributed bare-metal cloud platform focused on decentralization, automation, and energy efficiency, operating across multiple sites with hundreds of nodes.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in bare-metal automation, infrastructure as code, and hybrid cloud-edge systems while contributing directly to a cutting-edge, high-impact project that redefines cloud sovereignty and performance.

🎯 Requirements

• Expert-level Linux administration (preferably Debian/Ubuntu)
• Strong MAAS / Ironic / bare-metal automation experience (mandatory)
• Excellent networking fundamentals: VLANs, routing, VPNs
• Infrastructure as Code (Ansible), scripting (Bash/Python), GitOps
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Graylog
• Proven experience with OpenStack, Proxmox, VMware, and container orchestration
