Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect and own the next-generation BrandVNO platform that will power thousands of brands to launch their own mobile networks in weeks, not years. You will design the core SDK that enables any mobile app to become a fully-fledged carrier, handling everything from SIM provisioning to real-time billing and usage analytics.
- • Lead a distributed team of 6-8 senior engineers across North America and LATAM, establishing technical standards, conducting rigorous code reviews, and mentoring through pair-programming sessions. Your leadership will directly influence how millions of end-users experience mobile connectivity.
- • Translate complex telecom business requirements into elegant, scalable microservice architectures. You will own the full lifecycle—from whiteboard sketches to production deployment—ensuring 99.99 % uptime for services that process billions of API calls per month.
- • Drive the evolution of our Go-based microservice mesh, introducing event-driven patterns, CQRS, and eventual consistency models to handle 10× traffic spikes during product launches. You will benchmark, tune, and refactor critical paths to keep P99 latency under 50 ms globally.
- • Champion a security-first mindset across the stack, implementing zero-trust networking, end-to-end encryption, and compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and emerging telecom regulations. Your designs will safeguard sensitive subscriber data across 40+ countries.
- • Leverage AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to accelerate feature delivery by 30 % while maintaining strict code-quality gates. You will curate prompt libraries and best-practice playbooks so the entire team benefits from generative AI without compromising safety.
- • Collaborate with product, data science, and carrier partners to embed real-time business intelligence into the platform. You will expose streaming analytics APIs that let brands see how, when, and where their customers use data—turning connectivity into a competitive advantage.
- • Establish telemetry and SRE practices that provide crystal-clear visibility into every layer of the stack: custom Prometheus metrics, distributed tracing with OpenTelemetry, and chaos-engineering experiments that prove resilience under extreme load.
- • Contribute to open-source initiatives that define the future of telecom APIs. Whether extending TMForum standards or publishing reference architectures, your work will influence an entire industry moving from legacy SS7 to cloud-native 5G.
- • Shape the technical roadmap for 2025–2027, balancing short-term customer needs with long-term bets on eSIM orchestration, network slicing, and edge-native applications. Your strategic vision will secure Oxio’s position as the definitive TaaS leader.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of backend software development, with at least 3 years in a staff-level or principal role designing high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
- • Expert-level proficiency in Go (mandatory) and one additional language such as Java, Kotlin, C++, or Node.js; ability to reason about memory models, concurrency primitives, and garbage-collection tuning.
- • Proven track record building on AWS (or GCP/Azure) using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/CDK), container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS), and managed data stores (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Cassandra).
- • Deep experience with API design—both RESTful and GraphQL—and internal service communication via gRPC/Protobuf; familiarity with TMForum and 3GPP standards is a strong plus.
- • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives end-to-end: requirements gathering, architecture diagrams, test strategy, CI/CD pipelines, and post-launch optimization.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary plus a generous stock-option incentive program that aligns your success with Oxio’s rapid global expansion.
- • 100 % company-paid healthcare coverage for you and eligible dependents, including dental, vision, and mental-health support.
- • Fully remote-first culture with flexible working hours, an annual home-office stipend, and paid co-working memberships wherever you are.
- • Quarterly team retreats in inspiring locations (recent trips: MedellĂn, Lisbon, Tulum) and monthly virtual socials to keep the distributed team tightly knit.
