- • Lead technical strategy and architecture for Procurify’s core platform, aligning decisions with product goals and advising engineering leadership on critical technical considerations.
- • Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend services using Python and Django to form the foundation of Procurify’s SaaS platform.
- • Collaborate with engineering leadership and senior individual contributors across Identity, Integrations, Public API, and other cross-cutting domains to shape the long-term technical direction of the platform.
- • Mentor senior engineers and technical leaders through code reviews, architectural discussions, and written/verbal feedback to elevate team capabilities and uphold engineering standards.
- • Design and optimize relational database models and queries using MySQL, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security across the backend system.
- • Participate in investigating and resolving production defects and performance bottlenecks within the monolithic backend system to ensure operational excellence and system stability.
- • Champion code quality, clarity, and maintainability by applying architectural patterns and best practices to improve the implementation and scalability of backend systems.
- • Leverage AI-native development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot to accelerate development and enhance productivity in building modern SaaS applications.
- • Contribute to infrastructure and deployment pipelines using AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CircleCI to support reliable, scalable, and automated software delivery.
- • Work within a remote-first, fully distributed team across Canada with flexible hours, owning outcomes and delivering high-impact technical solutions with accountability.
- • Engage in a culture of psychological safety, collaboration, and engineering excellence, where teams are empowered to make technical decisions and push boundaries thoughtfully.
- • Apply principles of simplicity, resilience, ambition, commitment, and excellence in all technical work, cutting through complexity to enable efficient and impactful execution.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on building reliable and scalable SaaS software solutions.
- • Strong experience building and maintaining applications using Python and a major web framework (Django or FastAPI).
- • Practical, hands-on experience accelerating development with AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot in a production SaaS environment.
- • Extensive experience leading large technical projects with significant cross-team impact and advising leadership on critical technical architecture decisions.
- • Proven experience mentoring engineers and delivering technical feedback to peers to elevate team performance.
- • Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL), including schema design, query optimization, and secure data handling, along with RESTful API design principles.
