- • The Staff Compensation Associate is a senior individual contributor responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing compensation programs across the organization, playing a critical role in building scalable, equitable, and competitive compensation practices.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing and refining compensation programs, building and maintaining job architecture, leading data-driven compensation analyses, executing the annual merit and compensation review cycle, partnering with Finance on compensation forecasting, ensuring compliance with ASC 718 and SOX, supporting equity program administration, conducting pay equity analyses, developing dashboards and reports, and collaborating with HRBPs, Recruiting, Finance, and Legal teams.
- • The role sits within the People team at NerdWallet, reporting to the Senior Director, HR, and operates as the sole compensation expert, requiring autonomy and collaboration across People, Legal, and Finance organizations in a high-growth fintech environment.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in compensation strategy, regulatory compliance, data modeling, and cross-functional influence, while driving impact on total rewards, executive compensation, M&A activities, and systems innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8–10 years of experience in compensation, total rewards, finance, or a highly analytical HR function, ideally within high-growth technology or fintech environments
- • Advanced analytical skills with strong proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and interpretation, including expert-level Excel skills for building complex models and handling large datasets
- • Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday) and compensation tools such as Pave, Compensia, Sequoia, Syndio, or similar, plus familiarity with ASC 718, SOX controls, and compensation-related compliance requirements
