📋 Description

• As a Staff Multi-Cloud Platform Engineer at Compa Technologies, Inc., you will own and lead platform engineering across cloud, data, and AI/ML systems, shaping the foundation that enables every team to move fast and strategically in a high-ownership individual contributor role.
• You will design, build, and maintain core infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure, evolve Kubernetes-based platforms, drive multi-cloud initiatives including cloud abstraction, cross-cloud identity, networking, data movement, and encryption, and define platform standards for cluster architecture, security, scaling, and operational ownership.
• Compa is a venture-backed AI startup revolutionizing compensation intelligence, serving enterprise clients like NVIDIA, Stripe, DoorDash, OpenAI, and Moderna, with headquarters in Irvine, CA and growing sites in Denver, Seattle, and San Francisco, valuing transparency, ownership, and continuous learning.
• You will raise the bar on reliability and observability through SLIs/SLOs, monitoring, and incident response; scale and automate infrastructure services and internal tooling; improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows; reduce developer toil; and partner with leadership on technical direction while acting as a multiplier who sets standards that help engineers level-up.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on infrastructure and platform development
• Deep, hands-on experience with managed Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, or AKS) - cluster architecture, networking, scaling, upgrades and production operations
• Strong Python skills applied to infrastructure tooling and backend systems
• Hands-on experience designing and operating production systems across at least two of AWS, GCP, and Azure
• Experience managing infrastructure across cloud boundaries: identity, networking, data, traffic routing, and failover
• Observability tooling experience such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Loki or ELK, Jaeger, or Tempo
• Comfortable with high ownership and ambiguity - you've built things without a playbook before
