Staff Protocol Engineer

📋 Description

• • As a Staff Protocol Engineer at Polygon Labs, you will play a mission-critical role in evolving one of the most used networks in the Web3 ecosystem, solving deep protocol-level challenges including scalability, state growth, and latency while setting the architectural direction for the future of Polygon PoS.
• • You will lead design and prototyping of long-term solutions, drive architectural decisions across the PoS codebase, identify and resolve deep technical issues in protocol behavior and consensus, champion code quality and testing practices, mentor engineers, and collaborate cross-functionally with researchers, DevOps, security, and ecosystem teams to ship robust network upgrades.
• • You will join a lean, high-caliber team of 7 engineers within the Polygon PoS engineering team, reporting to the SVP of Engineering, working in a remote-first global environment with distributed teams across EMEA, US East Coast, and adjacent time zones.
