As we continue to scale, the need for a strong SRE leader to guide our infrastructure and operational excellence becomes paramount.
• • In this high-impact role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our infrastructure. You will own the AWS infrastructure direction, driving its evolution and spearheading migrations towards more modern, scalable runtimes, such as moving from ECS/Fargate to newer, more efficient solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in enhancing our CI/CD systems, focusing on improving developer experience, ensuring safety, and maximizing automation. We are currently leveraging GitHub Actions and aim to mature our continuous deployment capabilities, and your vision will be key to this advancement. You will also be responsible for developing and managing ephemeral environments and preview deploy capabilities, which are essential for accelerating iteration cycles and increasing confidence in software changes.
• • Furthermore, you will establish and uphold observability standards across metrics, logs, and tracing. This includes refining alert hygiene, developing comprehensive dashboards, and defining Service Level Objectives (SLOs) that accurately reflect our system's performance and reliability. A critical aspect of this role involves owning our incident response process, conducting thorough postmortems, and fostering a proactive reliability culture throughout the engineering organization. You will be the go-to expert for ensuring our systems are not just functional but exceptionally reliable and observable.
• • Your responsibilities will extend to defining and evolving our reliability standards, Service Level Indicators (SLIs), SLOs, and error budgets, ensuring they align with business objectives and user expectations. You will actively work to improve observability, alerting mechanisms, and incident management processes across all our services, making them more robust and responsive. During high-severity incidents, you will take the lead, guiding the response and driving clear, actionable follow-up items to prevent recurrence. A significant part of your role will involve close collaboration with engineering teams, partnering with them to design and implement resilient, scalable systems that can handle our rapid growth.
• • Building automation to reduce toil and minimize operational risk will be a core focus. You will identify repetitive tasks and develop solutions to automate them, freeing up valuable engineering time and reducing the potential for human error.
