- • As a Staff Software Engineer at Horizon3.ai, you will own the technical vision for EDR telemetry and detection work within the NodeZero platform, directly impacting how organizations validate and improve their endpoint defenses against real-world attack techniques.
- • You will write production code weekly in Go, Rust, Python, or similar languages, lead design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and partner with product management to translate ambiguous goals into actionable technical roadmaps while ensuring operational excellence.
- • You will partner with a team of former U.S. Special Operations cyber operators, startup engineers, and security practitioners in a fully remote, mission-driven culture focused on solving critical cybersecurity challenges like alert fatigue, blind spots, and skills shortages.
- • You will deepen your expertise in EDR platforms (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender), build labeled ground truth datasets, define detection efficacy metrics, and drive the integration of AI/ML research into detection gap analysis and tuning recommendations—shaping the future of autonomous pentesting efficacy.
🎯 Requirements
- • Deep familiarity with at least one major EDR platform (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or Microsoft Defender) at the telemetry and API level, including detection logic and SOC workflows.
- • Proven ability to write production-level code in a modern backend language (Go, Rust, Python, or similar) within a service-oriented architecture.
- • Experience leading technical teams through mentorship, design reviews, and setting high standards for code quality and operational discipline.
- • Skill in translating ambiguous product goals into concrete technical roadmaps and making informed build vs. buy vs. integrate decisions.
- • Ability to design and oversee ground truth methodology, confidence scoring, and FP/FN threshold definitions for detection efficacy measurement.
