• • As a Staff Software Engineer focused on the Data Platform at Pearlyplan Inc., you will be instrumental in shaping and scaling our core data infrastructure. This is a pivotal, hands-on role where you will take complete ownership of Pearly's data systems, encompassing architecture, infrastructure, and the underlying code. You will be building and maintaining these critical components using production-grade TypeScript and SQL, ensuring robustness, scalability, and performance.
• • Your responsibilities extend beyond the data platform itself. You will also contribute to the broader application codebase, which includes critical areas such as payments, workflow automation, and CI/CD pipelines. This cross-functional involvement ensures a holistic understanding and contribution to the entire product ecosystem.
• • A significant aspect of this role involves acting as a trusted final reviewer and mentor for the engineering team. Your deep expertise will guide both human engineers and AI agents towards achieving the highest standards of code quality, architectural integrity, and development best practices.

• • *DATA PLATFORM OWNERSHIP:**
• • Take end-to-end ownership of Pearly's data systems, including the PostgreSQL data warehouse and OLTP infrastructure, robust ETL pipelines (supporting both bulk and real-time streaming data), and the development of data products and APIs.
• • Lead the strategic direction of overall data architecture and harmonization across the platform. This involves designing sophisticated systems, abstractions, and algorithms that effectively unify data from diverse sources, such as multiple EHR systems, payment processors, and external vendors, into a coherent, scalable, and easily manageable data layer.
• • Drive critical data modeling decisions, prioritizing performance, comprehensive observability, and operational excellence as fundamental requirements for all data solutions.
• • Manage technical aspects of vendor SDK integrations and foster strong technical relationships with external vendors.
• • *BROADER PLATFORM CONTRIBUTION & CODE QUALITY:**
• • Demonstrate the ability to contribute effectively across the full application stack, including frontend, backend, and database layers, across all application domains such as payments, outreach automation, reporting, and internal tooling.
• • Guide and elevate the performance of human engineers and AI agents through exemplary work, insightful mentorship, clear documentation, and rigorous code reviews. You will serve as a critical final checkpoint for code quality and architectural soundness across all parts of the codebase.
• • *AI-POWERED DEVELOPMENT LIFECYCLE:**
• • Collaborate closely with the Product team from the initial ideation phase through to production release. This partnership involves defining product specifications that accurately translate business objectives into clear, actionable engineering requirements.
• • Own the technical specification process, creating detailed guiding plans that outline the architecture, scope, and execution strategy for every engineering initiative. Your approach will be characterized by long-horizon thinking, a keen awareness of scalability requirements, and proactive anticipation of potential edge cases.
• • Conceptualize and implement AI as a strategic system, focusing not only on individual productivity gains but also on team-wide leverage, process optimization, and the development of tooling to maximize AI adoption and minimize friction.
• • Contribute to the enhancement of our CI/CD infrastructure, including GitHub Actions and Terraform, as well as development infrastructure. This includes identifying and implementing improvements to the speed and safety of AI agent loops through efficient check systems, production-like sandboxes, and the development of essential tools, skills, and plugins.
