- • Own the end-to-end developer experience for 100+ engineers across mobile, web, and backend domains—designing, building, and continuously improving the internal tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and shared libraries that let every team ship safer, faster, and with less friction.
- • Serve as the technical anchor for our Engineering Experience (EngEx) guild, translating pain points from feature teams into concrete platform initiatives, writing high-impact RFCs, and driving consensus across architecture, security, and product leadership.
- • Architect and maintain scalable build systems that cut average build times by 30-50 %, leveraging Bazel, Gradle, and Webpack while introducing remote caching, incremental compilation, and automated dependency upgrades that free engineers to focus on product innovation instead of yak shaving.
- • Build golden-path templates, code generators, and self-service scaffolding tools that reduce the time-to-first-PR for new microservices and mobile features from days to minutes, complete with built-in observability, linting, and security guardrails.
- • Champion a culture of automated testing and continuous delivery by rolling out contract testing frameworks, synthetic monitoring, and feature-flag-driven rollouts that allow teams to deploy to production multiple times per day with zero downtime.
- • Partner with Security and Compliance to embed SAST/DAST scanning, secrets management, and policy-as-code checks directly into every pull request, ensuring that “secure by default” is not a slogan but an engineering reality.
- • Curate and evolve our internal documentation portal—part knowledge base, part runbook, part onboarding guide—so that any engineer can find the right answer in under 60 seconds and contribute improvements via simple markdown PRs.
- • Mentor senior and staff-level engineers through pair programming, design reviews, and brown-bag sessions, raising the technical bar while fostering psychological safety and inclusive collaboration across time zones.
- • Instrument everything: from build queue wait times to flaky-test frequency, you will define SLIs/SLOs for developer productivity and publish weekly dashboards that turn anecdotal frustration into data-driven action.
- • Lead quarterly “Fix-it Weeks” where the entire engineering org pauses feature work to pay down tech debt you have catalogued, achieving measurable reductions in cycle time and defect escape rate.
- • Collaborate with Product and Data Science to expose clean, versioned APIs and real-time event streams that power Omada’s personalized care journeys for hundreds of thousands of members living with chronic conditions.
- • Stay on the bleeding edge—evaluate new languages, frameworks, and cloud services through proof-of-concepts, then socialize findings via internal tech talks and documented ADRs so the whole org benefits from your curiosity.
- • Represent Omada at meetups and conferences, sharing our EngEx success stories and bringing back fresh ideas that keep our remote-first culture vibrant and forward-looking.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of software engineering with at least 3 years focused on developer productivity, platform, or infrastructure roles
- • Expert-level proficiency in at least two of: Kotlin/Java, TypeScript/Node, Swift, or Python, plus deep familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native patterns
- • Demonstrated success designing and operating large-scale CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Buildkite, or similar) serving 50+ repositories
- • Nice-to-have: prior experience in HIPAA-compliant or other regulated environments, and contributions to open-source developer tooling
