📋 Description

• This role is a Staff Software Engineer focused on platform development for networking hardware, involving kernel, device driver, and U-Boot work on next-generation networking products at Extreme Networks.
• The person will design and develop embedded systems software, integrate PHY drivers from multiple vendors, work on Linux networking components, and contribute to platform frameworks supporting virtual machines, hypervisors, Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices.
• The team operates across multiple sites and time zones, collaborating on cutting-edge networking infrastructure with exposure to open-source components and industry trends in high-speed Ethernet and platform innovation.
• The individual will deepen expertise in embedded Linux, device drivers, networking hardware/software architecture, and cloud-native platform integration while contributing to scalable, high-performance networking solutions.

🎯 Requirements

• BE/B.Tech or ME/MTech in Electronics & Communications or Computer Science
• 8 to 14 years of experience in switch/router hardware/software architecture and networking domain
• Experience in platform infrastructure and embedded software device driver development for switches/routers
• Familiarity with Broadcom MACs and PHYs, Barefoot components and their SDKs, Baseboard Management Controller (BMC), IPMI
• Experience with Linux networking components (ONL/ONLP, IPMI), Linux device drivers (FPGA/CPLD, I2C, SPI, MMC/SD, PCI, USB, SATA), DMA, interrupts, and Linux build infrastructure (uboot, ONIE, UEFI/BIOS)
• Proficiency in C, C++, shell scripting, Python, and version control/tools like GIT and Jenkins
