Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the end-to-end Quality & Reliability Program: craft the multi-year vision, quarterly OKRs, and weekly execution plan that moves us from reactive firefighting to proactive, data-driven reliability. You will define what “good” looks like across testing, deployment, observability, incident response, and cultural ownership, then socialize and enforce those standards at every layer of the stack.
  • • Lead large, cross-functional programs that touch Engineering, Product, Operations, Customer Success, and Go-to-Market. You will translate fuzzy business goals (“our customers need five-nines availability for their most critical workflows”) into crisp technical milestones, secure buy-in from VP-level stakeholders, and keep dozens of engineers marching in lockstep without formal authority.
  • • Run the Production Readiness Review (PRR) process as the final gate before any service sees live traffic. You will build the checklist, train reviewers, and personally sign off on designs, runbooks, SLO definitions, capacity plans, and rollback strategies—ensuring that nothing ships until it meets our reliability bar.
  • • Define, instrument, and evangelize Service Level Objectives (SLOs) that are ambitious, customer-centric, and achievable. You will stand up dashboards in Atlas and Grafana, publish weekly reliability scorecards, and lead quarterly “SLO summits” where teams negotiate error budgets and trade-offs between velocity and stability.
  • • Modernize incident management from page to post-mortem. You will redesign on-call rotations, automate alert triage, introduce blameless post-mortem templates, and track follow-through on every action item until the system—not the human—is fixed.
  • • Scale tooling and automation that turns toil into engineering leverage. You will partner with SRE, Platform, and QA teams to expand chaos testing, synthetic monitoring, canary pipelines, and self-healing infrastructure, driving adoption through demos, brown-bags, and gamified OKRs.
  • • Proactively surface and mitigate systemic risk. You will run quarterly “pre-mortems,” dependency mapping exercises, and failure-mode brainstorming sessions, then turn the scariest findings into funded engineering workstreams with clear owners and deadlines.
  • • Drive alignment across Product, Engineering, Ops, and GTM so that reliability is never an afterthought. You will translate customer pain into engineering roadmaps, negotiate trade-offs with PMs, and ensure that every feature launch includes a reliability chapter in its PRD.
  • • Track and communicate progress relentlessly. You will maintain living Atlas pages, Jira epics, and executive-level slide decks that show exactly where we are against our reliability goals, what’s at risk, and what decisions need to be made this week.
  • • Embed continuous learning into the culture. You will launch internal “Reliability Guilds,” publish monthly incident learnings newsletters, and create internal certifications so that every engineer knows how to design, test, and operate resilient systems.
  • • Champion a culture where quality is everyone’s job. You will mentor junior TPMs, coach engineers on SLO thinking, and celebrate teams that ship slowly but safely—proving that reliability and velocity can coexist when we invest up front.
