Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Windows Low Level Engineer - Endpoint security, you will design and develop advanced security features for SentinelOne’s Windows endpoint protection platform, operating across both user-mode and kernel-mode environments. You will build and optimize mission-critical components including anti-tampering protections, network sensors, and agent infrastructure while solving complex performance and stability challenges at massive scale. By researching Windows internals and debugging deep system issues, you will collaborate with distributed engineering teams to deliver high-impact security capabilities protecting millions of devices worldwide.
- • You will work in both user-mode and kernel-mode, designing, developing, testing, and debugging complex real-world problems primarily in modern C++ (23). You will continuously enrich your knowledge of Windows OS internals, kernel, endpoint protection, and EDR ecosystems while contributing to significant new features and rewrites of existing components under extraordinary performance and optimization demands due to the scale of handling hundreds of billions of events daily.
- • You will join one of SentinelOne’s Platform group teams, responsible for complex low-level areas such as Windows agent anti-tampering, network sensors, device control, usermode security, agent infrastructures (installers, logging, services, communication layer), and interfaces for the Windows agent. Your work will influence the security of tens of millions of Windows devices protected for enterprise and government customers globally, including 4 of the Fortune 10 and hundreds of Global 2000 companies.
- • You will have the opportunity to grow your expertise in low-level Windows development, modern C++, and security-oriented engineering while collaborating with talented, mission-driven engineers across distributed teams. You’ll be encouraged to share knowledge within Platform teams and the broader Windows group, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and innovation in AI-native cybersecurity.
🎯 Requirements
- • Multiple years of experience as a software engineer in low-level programming using modern C++ (or C with willingness to learn modern C++)
- • Hands-on experience and in-depth understanding of Windows OS design and internals, Windows low-level development, and debugging of Windows applications with standard debugging and profiling tools
- • Previous experience working on a production-grade product with wide-scale deployment
- • Great communication skills and ability to work independently and with peers across different time zones, problem-solving, and out-of-the-box thinking
- • Attention to detail and high coding standards
- • Advantage: experience with Windows Kernel and Windows Drivers development, security-oriented development, reversing, or malware analysis
🏖️ Benefits
- • Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
- • Competitive leave benefits and gender-neutral parental leave
- • Medical and insurance benefits, pension, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- • Global home office allowance and mobile phone reimbursement
- • Flexible working hours, 100% remote role on full-time permanent employment (Quadro type contract) based in Italy
- • Optional membership in major coworking chains and relocation assistance available for candidates willing to relocate to the Czech Republic (if eligible to work in the EU)
