Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Be the face of TK Maxx in Wendouree, VIC, where every shift is a treasure hunt. You’ll greet shoppers, unearth hidden gems, and turn first-time visitors into lifelong fans by delivering the off-price magic that only TK Maxx can offer.
  • • Own the sales floor like it’s your own boutique. You’ll zone, straighten, size, and colour-block merchandise so that every rack tells a story and every shelf invites discovery, ensuring the store always looks fresh, full, and irresistibly shoppable.
  • • Champion profitable sales by mastering the register and mobile POS. You’ll process transactions with speed and warmth, upsell gift cards, and protect margin through accurate markdown execution and loss-prevention behaviours at the till.
  • • Power the back-of-house “flow.” You’ll unload trucks, sort pallets, ticket, sensor-tag, and move product to the floor at pace while safeguarding our treasure-hunt model—never the same assortment twice, always something new to excite customers.
  • • Guard our off-price advantage by executing merchandise protection standards—EAS tags, CCTV awareness, and discreet service recovery—so great value stays on the rack and shrink stays off the P&L.
  • • Curate the fitting-room experience. You’ll greet, count, and return items with a smile, recover stalls in record time, and turn try-ons into add-on sales by suggesting coordinating pieces customers didn’t know they needed.
  • • Live the TJX Cultural Factors every day: be kind, be bold, be resourceful. You’ll role-model these behaviours for new starters, celebrate diversity in your team, and make Wendouree Store 1322 a place where everyone feels they belong.
  • • Drive community impact by supporting TK Maxx charity initiatives—whether it’s rounding up at the register, hosting donation drives, or volunteering in local causes—turning every transaction into a force for good.
  • • Keep safety front-of-mind. You’ll complete daily checklists, report hazards instantly, and coach peers on correct lifting, ladder use, and emergency procedures so everyone goes home injury-free.
  • • Embrace “working in the grey.” When the playbook ends, your creativity begins—finding faster ways to process freight, smarter ways to display product, and better ways to surprise and delight our customers.
  • • Own your development path. Ask questions, shadow leaders, volunteer for new projects, and tap into TJX’s global learning platform to build skills that could take you to Department Manager, Store Manager, or beyond.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Retail or customer-facing experience preferred, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn is essential
  • • Ability to lift up to 15 kg, climb ladders, and be on your feet for up to 8 hours
  • • Flexible availability across weekdays, evenings, and weekends to meet the needs of a dynamic off-price retail environment
  • • Strong communication skills to engage a diverse customer base and collaborate effectively with team members
  • • Comfortable working autonomously and making quick decisions in a fast-paced setting
  • • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and adherence to safety and loss-prevention policies

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive hourly rate with penalty rates for evenings and weekends
  • • 30% team member discount at TK Maxx and across all TJX brands worldwide
  • • Clear career progression pathways—from Store Associate to Department Manager, Assistant Store Manager, and beyond—with paid training and leadership development
  • • Access to the TJX Global Learning Portal, mentorship programs, and quarterly performance recognition awards
