đź“‹ Description
- • Are you a seasoned sales professional with a proven history of building and nurturing high-value client relationships within the corporate events industry? Meeting Tomorrow, a dynamic and established full-service event agency with 23 years of experience, is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Strategic Account Director (SAD) to spearhead the aggressive expansion of our Event Production footprint within Fortune 5000 companies.
- • This is a pure business development role, designed for a tenacious "hunter" who thrives on the challenge of building a substantial book of business from the ground up. Unlike roles that rely on inbound leads, this position demands proactive outreach, strategic targeting, and a relentless drive to identify and secure significant opportunities. Your primary objective will be to identify and close $1M+ opportunities with brands that have a consistent need for multiple, high-impact events throughout the year.
- • As a Strategic Account Director, you will serve as the critical nexus between a client's most ambitious creative visions and the intricate technical production realities that bring them to life. You will be instrumental in guiding and collaborating with a cross-functional team of highly skilled Producers, Technical Directors, and Logistics experts to architect and deliver multi-million dollar event programs that exceed client expectations.
- • The ultimate success for a SAD in this role is defined by securing clients who regularly execute a diverse range of events, spanning various locations globally, and who are looking for a dedicated, long-term partner capable of providing comprehensive event solutions encompassing planning, creative services, and production.
- • This role is inherently client-facing, requiring a significant presence in the field. You can anticipate that up to 30% of your time will be dedicated to travel, enabling you to build robust relationships, represent Meeting Tomorrow at industry events, manage booths, and ultimately close deals in person.
- • Your core mission in the first year is to achieve a benchmark of closing $1M in new business within your initial 12 months. This ambitious target underscores the importance of your ability to consistently generate and close high-value deals.
- • Pipeline development will be driven by your own strategic outreach efforts, leveraging your existing industry network, and capitalizing on deep-rooted professional relationships. We are specifically seeking candidates with a demonstrable track record of success built entirely on zero inbound leads, highlighting your self-sufficiency and proactive sales approach.
- • You will operate as a "Strategic Hunter," understanding that you are not merely selling services, but rather comprehensive solutions. This involves a deep understanding of the internal dynamics, political landscapes, and specific needs of your target client organizations, enabling you to expertly navigate complex decision-making hierarchies and identify key influencers.
- • Your "Presence" in the market is paramount. You will be expected to be actively engaged "in the field" and consistently interacting with clients. This includes at least 30% travel to foster strong relationships, attend crucial industry events, and secure new business opportunities through face-to-face engagement.
- • Your responsibilities will encompass "Closing Deals" as the absolute priority. This involves the entire process from initial qualification and compelling pitching to negotiating contracts and ensuring the seamless execution of the first event, setting the stage for ongoing partnerships.
- • You will own the "Full-Cycle" sales process, from the very first "cold" touchpoint with a prospective client through to contract negotiation and the successful delivery of their initial event, ensuring a flawless client experience from start to finish.
- • "Pipeline Engineering" is a continuous and critical function, involving the constant identification and pursuit of clients who possess global event needs and maintain high-frequency event calendars, ensuring a steady stream of potential opportunities.
- • "Relationship Architecture" is key to your success, focusing on building strong personal and professional bonds with top-tier meeting planners, C-suite executives, and other key stakeholders within target organizations.
- • Meeting Tomorrow offers a high-performance culture where you will be supported by exceptional technical masterminds (Production Managers) and logistics experts (Project Managers) who are dedicated to ensuring that once a deal is closed, the execution is nothing short of world-class. This collaborative environment empowers you to focus on what you do best – selling.
- • We foster a collaborative team environment, comprised of 90 talented professionals. At Meeting Tomorrow, our mission is deeply rooted in cultivating a culture of respect and affection. We actively embrace our differences and are steadfastly committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer that champions second chances and strongly encourages individuals from all backgrounds, including BIPOC, women, LGBTQIA+, veterans, persons with disabilities, formerly incarcerated individuals, and all others, to apply.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven track record of building a book of business from the ground up, with experience managing $10M+ in lifetime event revenue across a diverse client list.
- • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Event Industry, with a strong preference for agency-side experience over AV-only hardware sales.
- • Established, high-level relationships within key target sectors such as Pharma, FinServ, Tech, and Consulting.
- • Demonstrated strategic acumen, with the ability to effectively map client business goals to technical production realities.
- • Exceptional "Grit" and "Initiative"; a proactive self-starter who identifies targets and pursues them without waiting for direction.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Full medical coverage, including health, vision, dental, short-term disability, and life insurance.
- • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and 9 paid holidays.
- • Annual profit-sharing bonus.
- • 100% charitable giving match.
- • Employer match 401k with subsidized brokerage fees.
- • Gym membership reimbursement.
- • Employee-led social action teams.
- • Fully paid parental leave.
- • Paid bereavement leave.
- • Regular fun social gatherings.
