Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own and grow a multi-million-dollar territory spanning Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia as Nordson’s front-line ambassador for precision adhesive dispensing solutions. You will be the single point of accountability for every Product Assembly customer—from Fortune 500 appliance makers to niche electronics start-ups—guiding them through complex technical challenges and long-term capital investments.
- • Exceed aggressive annual sales budgets for both complete systems and aftermarket parts by executing a data-driven territory plan you design and refine quarterly. Your plan will map every plant, line, and decision-maker, prioritizing high-impact visits and ensuring no opportunity slips through the cracks.
- • Spend 70–80 % of your week on the road, walking production floors, climbing catwalks, and crawling under conveyors to audit adhesive applications in real time. You will measure line speeds, dispense rates, substrate variations, and environmental conditions, then translate those findings into engineered quotes that cut material waste, boost throughput, and eliminate quality defects.
- • Leverage Nordson’s full technical arsenal—Field Service Technicians, Product Application Engineers, Industry Specialists, and Technical Services—to craft turnkey proposals. You will quarterback cross-functional teams, distilling complex specs into clear ROI narratives that secure six- and seven-figure purchase orders.
- • Drive continuous forecasting accuracy within our CRM (SAP/Salesforce), logging every customer interaction, competitive threat, and line upgrade idea the same day it happens. Your pipeline discipline will directly inform global capacity planning and product roadmap decisions.
- • Act as the voice of the customer back to headquarters, packaging field intelligence on emerging market needs, competitor price moves, and next-gen application requirements into actionable feedback that shapes R&D priorities and pricing strategies.
- • Champion Nordson’s culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion by building trust-based relationships with plant managers, maintenance supervisors, and C-suite executives alike—regardless of background—ensuring every customer feels heard, respected, and valued.
- • Maintain a fleet vehicle and personal presentation that reflect Nordson’s 70-year legacy of integrity and excellence; you are often the first—and most lasting—impression a customer has of our brand.
- • Embrace overnight travel (1–2 nights per week) and flexible scheduling to accommodate three-shift operations, emergency line-down situations, and last-minute customer requests, all while managing your own work-life balance in a remote, home-office environment.
- • Thrive in industrial settings where noise, heat, cold, and heights are the norm. You will wear PPE, climb ladders, and navigate tight production spaces safely, setting the standard for field professionalism.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree preferred plus 3–5 years of industrial capital-equipment sales experience in a field-based, home-office model
- • Proven ability to read mechanical drawings, understand pneumatic & electric controls, and translate technical specs into customer ROI
- • Demonstrated success carrying an annual quota above $2 M and forecasting accurately in CRM systems such as SAP or Salesforce
- • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and willingness to master Nordson’s internal pricing & configuration tools
- • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel overnight 1–2 nights per week across PA, VA, and WV
🏖️ Benefits
- • Remote-first flexibility with a company vehicle, gas card, laptop, and mobile hotspot provided on day one
- • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage starting the first of the month after hire
- • 401(k) with 6 % company match and additional annual profit-sharing contribution
- • Annual President’s Club trip for top performers plus uncapped commission accelerators once quota is exceeded
- • Tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 per year and access to Nordson University leadership development programs
