- • This senior Strategic Finance Lead role is critical to shaping OpenAI’s financial strategy for major long-term investments, capital structure decisions, and strategic growth initiatives, directly influencing the company’s ability to scale responsibly and sustainably.
- • Day to day, the person will build financial models and frameworks to evaluate strategic initiatives, structure and execute complex cross-functional projects, translate technical and business inputs into executive-ready recommendations, lead high-priority workstreams from concept to execution, and apply AI to modernize finance workflows and decision-making.
- • The role sits within OpenAI’s corporate finance function, partnering closely with capital markets, treasury, and executive leadership to support high-impact, fast-moving strategic priorities in a mission-driven AI research and deployment organization.
- • The person will develop deep expertise in AI-native finance transformation, gain exposure to board-level strategic decision-making, and build scalable financial frameworks that balance innovation with rigorous risk and capital efficiency analysis.
🎯 Requirements
- • 12+ years of experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, capital markets, investment banking, infrastructure finance, or related fields
- • Strong understanding of capital structure, financing strategy, debt markets, and large-scale investment evaluation
- • Exceptional financial modeling, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
- • Strong executive presence with ability to communicate clearly across investors, executives, and technical stakeholders
- • Experience operating in high-growth, high-complexity environments with ability to navigate ambiguity and move quickly
- • Excitement around using AI as a core operating advantage and building AI-native workflows
