📋 Description

• As a Strategic Projects Associate at Handshake Technologies, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s mission to power career discovery and AI-driven talent development by supporting high-impact initiatives that bridge cutting-edge AI research with real-world applications. This role is critical to scaling Handshake’s growing network of expert Fellows and ensuring the quality and reliability of human-labeled datasets that fuel frontier model development.
• You will lead the execution of high-visibility customer data collection pipelines, translating complex customer needs into structured, high-quality datasets that directly enhance model performance and align with strategic AI research objectives. This includes designing, optimizing, and maintaining scalable data infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency, data integrity, and seamless integration across product, engineering, and operations teams.
• You will support and manage globally distributed teams of expert LLM contributors — including PhDs, researchers, and domain specialists — by providing training, coaching, and hands-on guidance to ensure consistent data quality, adherence to protocols, and timely delivery of contributions critical to model evaluation and advancement.
• You will design and implement analytics frameworks to monitor pipeline performance, team productivity, and data quality metrics, using insights to inform decision-making, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement in both technical and operational workflows.
• You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in Engineering, Product, Operations, and Go-to-Market to solve complex, ambiguous challenges that accelerate progress in leading large language models (LLMs), acting as a strategic connector between technical execution and business objectives.
• You will gain deep exposure to the full lifecycle of AI development — from data sourcing and labeling to model evaluation and product integration — while working alongside leaders from Scale AI, Meta, xAI, Notion, Coinbase, and Palantir, accelerating your growth as a high-impact operator in the AI economy.
• You will develop advanced skills in strategic project management, data pipeline optimization, stakeholder communication, and analytical problem-solving, positioning yourself for rapid career progression in tech, AI operations, or product strategy roles within high-growth, mission-driven organizations.

🎯 Requirements

• Recent graduate or graduating soon with a strong academic record
• Completed internships in tech, consulting, banking, financial services, or startups
• Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking skills with proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, Docs, and Drive
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities across email, Slack, and virtual meetings
• Self-starter mentality with high agency, bias toward action, and ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
• Bonus: STEM major (engineering or computer science preferred) or exposure to technical concepts in data, software, or AI
