Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Serve as the single-threaded owner and strategic research advisor for a multi-million-dollar book of business, guiding Fortune 1000 and high-growth brands through every stage of the insight lifecycle—from translating ambiguous business questions into laser-focused research objectives to delivering board-ready recommendations that move the needle on revenue, product, and brand health.
- • Architect end-to-end custom research programs that blend qualitative depth (IDIs, ethnographies, online communities) with quantitative rigor (discrete choice, max-diff, segmentation, forecasting) while leveraging Fuel Cycle’s AI-powered platform to compress timelines from weeks to days without sacrificing methodological integrity.
- • Own the P&L for your assigned portfolio (typical annual spend $500K–$1.5M per client), scoping projects, forecasting resource needs, and negotiating statements of work that protect gross margin while exceeding client expectations for quality and speed.
- • Translate raw data into executive-level stories—crafting visually compelling dashboards in Tableau, PowerPoint narratives that land in the C-suite, and interactive debriefs that turn skeptical stakeholders into enthusiastic champions of customer-led decision making.
- • Act as the voice of the customer inside Fuel Cycle, funneling real-time feedback to Product, Engineering, and Marketing to accelerate roadmap priorities that keep us three steps ahead of the market research curve.
- • Orchestrate cross-functional squads of research analysts, survey programmers, data scientists, and audience operations specialists, ensuring every deliverable meets our “zero-defect” standard for statistical accuracy, methodological transparency, and strategic relevance.
- • Proactively identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities—whether it’s layering on advanced analytics, expanding into new geos, or launching always-on insight communities—that deepen client dependency on Fuel Cycle and drive net-revenue retention above 120%.
- • Serve as the escalation point for high-stakes client crises—missed quotas, data anomalies, or last-minute scope changes—using a calm, solutions-oriented approach that turns potential churn into renewed trust and larger contracts.
- • Travel up to 25% for on-site journey-mapping workshops, quarterly business reviews, and industry conferences where you evangelize Fuel Cycle’s thought leadership and gather competitive intelligence that sharpens our positioning.
- • Champion diversity of thought in every research design, ensuring sample frames and discussion guides reflect inclusive perspectives that uncover insights for historically under-represented customer segments.
- • Mentor junior researchers through formal training sessions and informal lunch-and-learns, raising the collective IQ of the team and creating a talent pipeline that sustains Fuel Cycle’s next wave of growth.
- • Maintain an obsessive curiosity about emerging methods—synthetic sampling, conversational AI, predictive analytics—and pilot them on select accounts to prove ROI before scaling across the client base.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 7 years of hands-on custom market research experience designing, executing, and delivering both qualitative and quantitative studies
- • Minimum 5 years in a client-facing consulting capacity with proven success managing a portfolio of accounts generating $500K–$1.5M in annual research spend
- • Demonstrated mastery of at least three of the following tools: SPSS, SAS, R, Qualtrics, SurveyGizmo, SurveyMonkey, Tableau
- • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, or related field; advanced degree a plus
- • Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for executive audiences
🏖️ Benefits
- • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans with 100% employer-paid employee premiums
- • 401(k) with immediate company match and equity purchase option to share in Fuel Cycle’s long-term upside
- • 15 vacation days, 7 sick days, 12 company holidays, and 4 floating recharge days annually
- • Paid parental leave program plus monthly internet and phone stipend for seamless hybrid work
- • Pet-friendly offices, weekly catered lunches, and access to Headspace and Rightway wellness platforms
