  • • As the Strategic Supplier Partnerships Director at Covetrus, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our animal health technology and services business by developing and executing sophisticated sourcing strategies that directly contribute to profitability and optimize our critical supplier relationships.
  • • This pivotal role involves cultivating robust, trust-based partnerships with our key suppliers, meticulously negotiating contracts and rebate agreements, and ensuring the seamless, efficient operation of our supply chain to meet the dynamic needs of veterinary practice partners.
  • • You will act as a strategic leader, taking ownership of supplier performance management, proactively resolving complex escalations, and leveraging data-driven insights to pinpoint opportunities for significant growth and enhanced operational efficiency across the organization.
  • • A core aspect of your leadership will be managing and mentoring a high-performing team, fostering their development, and guiding them to achieve ambitious business objectives.
  • • You will oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from the initial drafting and negotiation phases through to execution, ongoing governance, and meticulous record-keeping, ensuring strict adherence to corporate policies and complete alignment with our partners' strategic objectives.
  • • This includes diligently tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), conducting regular audits, and proactively managing contract renewals and amendments to maximize value extraction and systematically mitigate risks.
  • • You will be responsible for resolving disputes and discrepancies with speed and efficiency, working collaboratively with our Legal department and various cross-functional stakeholders to ensure fair and timely outcomes.
  • • A critical function will be the regular assessment of contract performance to guarantee all obligations are met and potential risks are effectively managed and minimized.
  • • Cultivating strong, enduring partnerships will be paramount. This involves building genuine trust and rapport with stakeholders at all levels within supplier organizations, deeply understanding their unique goals and challenges to tailor solutions that drive mutual success.
  • • You will provide proactive support through consistent, regular touchpoints, addressing urgent needs as they arise and resolving issues with a sense of urgency and effectiveness.
  • • Strategic collaboration will be key, offering valuable market insights, diligently tracking the effectiveness of joint initiatives, and actively driving mutual growth through a commitment to continuous improvement and constructive feedback loops.
  • • You will develop and execute the overarching sourcing strategy, ensuring it is tightly aligned with overarching organizational goals and specific category management priorities, with the ultimate aim of maximizing profitability and driving operational efficiency across the board.
  • • A significant part of this role involves coordinating closely with internal teams to gather precise product specifications, competitive pricing, and essential marketing collateral, ensuring the flawless setup of new products within our inventory systems and across our digital platforms.
  • • You will mentor and develop your team members by strategically assigning work, diligently monitoring their performance, providing constructive and actionable feedback, and identifying and fostering talent development opportunities to maximize both individual and collective team effectiveness.

  • • You will regularly analyze sales, distribution, and rebate data to identify emerging trends, potential risks, and significant opportunities, preparing comprehensive and detailed reports for internal stakeholders.
  • • Providing actionable insights to cross-functional teams will be crucial to support assortment planning, refine pricing strategies, and enhance promotional planning efforts.
  • • You will collaborate effectively with procurement and inventory teams to optimize supply chain management, maintain optimal inventory levels, and ensure forecasting accurately reflects market demand.
  • • Addressing any issues related to stock availability, order discrepancies, and delayed shipments will be a key responsibility.
  • • You will serve as the primary point of contact for all supplier-related issues, escalating critical matters when necessary and ensuring their timely and satisfactory resolution.
  • • Monitoring rebate structures, diligently tracking performance metrics against agreed-upon goals, and ensuring alignment with partners on rebate objectives will be ongoing tasks.
  • • Providing accurate and timely reporting on rebate performance to internal stakeholders and troubleshooting any rebate discrepancies will be essential.
  • • You will collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure they are thoroughly informed about new and existing products by providing partner-supplied resources and facilitating regular check-ins to address their specific needs and challenges.
  • • Working with the marketing team, you will help develop and execute enterprise-wide media packages designed to enhance product visibility across both digital and traditional channels.
  • • This includes coordinating co-branded content, such as advertisements and educational campaigns, while ensuring strict alignment with overarching business objectives and partner strategies.
  • • Monitoring the performance of these initiatives and providing feedback for continuous improvement will be a key aspect of this collaboration.
  • • You will oversee the end-to-end product launch process by coordinating with internal teams to gather all necessary product details, communicating clear timelines to distribution partners, and ensuring accurate setup within our inventory systems.
  • • Tracking launch progress, proactively addressing logistical challenges, and conducting thorough post-launch analysis to assess performance and identify areas for improvement will be critical to success.
