- • We are seeking a highly strategic and commercially astute Strategy Manager to play a pivotal role within our thriving Business Banking team. Launched four years ago, Monzo Business Banking is dedicated to providing small businesses with the best of Monzo, simplifying their financial lives through essential banking tools, innovative time-saving features, and our signature money management capabilities. This award-winning service currently empowers over 850,000 businesses across the UK, and you will be instrumental in shaping its future growth and success.
- • **Your Impact: Key Responsibilities**
- • As a Strategy Manager, you will be at the forefront of driving commercial strategy and execution for Monzo Business Banking. Your responsibilities will be broad and impactful, including:
- • **Commercial Strategy Development:** Crafting clear, actionable commercial strategies that span across various channels, products, and markets for our Business Banking division. This involves identifying new opportunities, defining market positioning, and setting strategic priorities.
- • **Performance Monitoring and Adaptation:** Continuously monitoring the effectiveness of our strategic initiatives and financial performance. You will leverage data-driven insights to adapt strategies, optimize performance, and ensure Monzo Business Banking remains on its trajectory of success and growth.
- • **Business Case Development:** Developing compelling business cases to support product expansion, new feature development, and strategic distribution initiatives. This includes rigorous financial modeling, market analysis, and risk assessment.
- • **Pricing and Business Model Innovation:** Designing and refining pricing strategies and business models for our suite of business banking products. This requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, customer value, and competitive landscapes.
- • **Build vs. Partner Decisions:** Making critical decisions regarding whether to build new capabilities in-house or partner with external providers for vital product lines and features. This involves evaluating technical feasibility, strategic alignment, and commercial viability.
- • **Senior Stakeholder Engagement:** Presenting strategic plans, proposals, and performance updates to senior leadership forums, including the Executive Committee (ExCo) and the Board. Gaining alignment and buy-in from these key stakeholders will be crucial for execution.
- • **Growth Acceleration:** Supporting sales and partnership-led initiatives designed to accelerate the growth of Monzo Business Banking. This may involve identifying potential partners, structuring deals, and ensuring strategic alignment.
- • **New Initiative Ownership:** Taking ownership of new product and commercial initiatives from their nascent stages through to launch and initial growth phases. This 'zero to one' approach requires a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset.
- • **Location and Compensation**
- • This role is based in our London office, with flexibility for distributed working within the UK, requiring occasional travel to London for key meetings. The salary range for this position is £85,000 - £105,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
