📋 Description
- • The Support Coordinator assists care and case managers with non-clinical activities such as creating cases and events, managing authorizations, providing telephonic outreach to members, providers, and community-based organizations, handling member mailings, and faxing clinical requests and Individual Health Care Plans on behalf of clinical teams.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include providing excellent customer service via phone regarding authorization updates, coordinating care, DME outreach, scheduling appointments, and conducting screen assessments to identify risk factors; managing requests from members, providers, and call centers for initial authorizations, updates, and corrections; completing member and provider notification calls; and escalating calls to appropriate departments as needed.
- • The role is assigned to a specific clinical team (e.g., Care Management, Utilization Management, Behavioral Health) and involves managing a high volume of tasks across multiple queues while meeting or exceeding performance, quality, and productivity measures.
- • The Support Coordinator builds trust through clear communication, documents member information accurately in compliance with internal procedures, follows established policies to ensure timely issue resolution, monitors member needs to improve quality and cost outcomes, and maintains strict HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI).
🎯 Requirements
- • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- • Prior experience in a customer service environment
- • Working experience in a fast-paced environment
- • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook
