📋 Description
- • Lead underwriting quality, credit risk management, and portfolio performance for one or more origination channels and lending portfolios within Axos Bank.
- • Independently assess credit submissions using expert judgment and extensive underwriting experience to identify risks, apply appropriate structures, and determine risk ratings.
- • Deliver a consistently exceptional client experience by communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, adhering to defined SLAs for transaction processing.
- • Support vendor sales and acquisition processes by clearly articulating underwriting standards, credit philosophy, and risk assessment protocols.
- • Monitor and manage credit risk across assigned portfolios through ongoing transaction reviews, policy adherence, and proactive communication of concerns.
- • Govern the credit function in alignment with Verdant guidelines and applicable regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and operational integrity.
- • Serve as the subject matter expert for the specific asset class under management, providing guidance and direction to internal teams.
- • Develop, maintain, and analyze key risk indicators and credit risk metrics to proactively identify trends, exposures, and potential issues within portfolios.
- • Gather, report, and interpret salient credit risk data using multiple tools and techniques to support decision-making across business units.
- • Collaborate with IT to enhance, maintain, and increase the efficiency of credit-related systems, tools, and automation processes.
- • Design, document, implement, and evaluate credit policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and mitigate risk.
- • Participate in special projects as assigned, including those related to business continuity, disaster recovery, and regulatory initiatives.
- • Maintain awareness of macro and microeconomic trends and their impact on industries, lending sectors, and associated credit risks.
- • Apply strong project management skills to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage team performance within the credit function.
- • Ensure full compliance with commercial lending regulations and internal controls across all credit activities.
- • Leverage prior exposure to commercial lending disciplines such as sales, collections, workouts, asset management, or syndications to inform credit decisions.
- • Maintain proficiency in operating standard office equipment and performing duties requiring extended periods of sitting and manual dexterity.
