  • • The SVP, Industry and Business Transformation is a senior executive role at Merkle, part of Dentsu Aegis Network, responsible for guiding Fortune 500 clients through AI-driven and digital transformation initiatives while serving as a trusted C-suite advisor and thought leader in key industries such as Health, Financial Services, Retail, and Emerging sectors.
  • • This role combines high-visibility client advisory work with internal leadership, requiring the individual to shape Merkle’s transformation practice by developing industry points of view, building executive relationships, and representing the firm in external forums with analysts, media, and partners.
  • • Day to day, the SVP will lead major client engagements focused on business model innovation, operating model transformation, and AI-driven change, while building long-term strategic relationships that evolve from project-based work to ongoing trusted advisor partnerships.
  • • They will partner with the Client Relationship Group and Growth Officers to identify transformation opportunities, drive business development through compelling proposals and presentations, and ensure integrated solutions are delivered across Merkle’s full platform.
  • • The SVP will build and lead a high-performing team of 30+ professionals including Industry Leaders, Technology Strategists, and Operating Model experts, providing coaching, mentorship, and clear career frameworks to foster growth and collective excellence.
  • • They will establish performance expectations, manage talent decisions (hiring, promotion, compensation), and cultivate a culture of intellectual curiosity, client focus, and collaborative problem-solving within the transformation practice.
  • • Cross-functionally, the role involves building relationships with capability owners across Merkle to enable seamless, multi-discipline engagements, leading coordination across practice areas, and creating operational frameworks that clarify roles, responsibilities, and engagement economics.
  • • The SVP will represent the transformation practice in broader Merkle strategy discussions, market planning, and capability development, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide goals.
  • • They will manage the group’s financial performance, including revenue growth, pipeline development, and profitability, while optimizing resource allocation to balance utilization, quality, and team satisfaction.
  • • The SVP will partner in pipeline reviews, business planning, and performance tracking to drive accountability, and help develop practice infrastructure such as methodologies, tools, knowledge systems, and training programs for scalable delivery.
  • • Staying ahead of market trends, the SVP will identify opportunities to extend Merkle’s transformation capabilities into new industries, service lines, or engagement models, and build points of view on how AI, automation, and digital technologies are reshaping business operations.
  • • They will create replicable frameworks to guide client transformation journeys, partner with technology providers and research institutions, and ensure Merkle remains at the forefront of innovation in business transformation.
  • • The role reports to the Chief Strategy Officer and is based remotely with a New York focus, requiring flexibility for occasional in-person collaboration as part of Dentsu’s hybrid work model.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven senior industry leadership experience with deep expertise in business transformation, particularly in Health, Financial Services, Retail, or Emerging industries.
  • • Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted C-suite advisor, guiding Fortune 500 clients through complex AI-driven and digital transformation initiatives.
  • • Strong track record in building and leading high-performing consulting teams (30+ members), including talent development, performance management, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • • Exceptional executive presence and client relationship skills, with experience driving business development through strategic proposals, presentations, and long-term partnership building.
  • • Proven success in cross-functional leadership and integration across service lines to deliver unified client solutions and optimize practice performance.
  • • Experience managing P&L metrics, pipeline development, resource allocation, and practice infrastructure to drive profitability and scalability.
