- • As a Sylheti Interpreter at LanguageLine Solutions, you will play a vital role in breaking language and cultural barriers for limited-English speakers and the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing across critical sectors such as healthcare, government, law enforcement, and emergency services.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include responding promptly to on-demand interpreting sessions, accurately conveying meaning between Sylheti and English speakers, maintaining professionalism and cultural sensitivity, and handling high-stress or emotionally charged calls—including 911 emergencies—without breaks when necessary.
- • You will join a certified ASTM and ISO-compliant organization recognized as a Great Place to Work and a top remote employer, supported by Senior Language Specialists, interpreter help desks, and technology teams to ensure service excellence.
- • This role offers the opportunity to develop advanced interpretation skills, gain industry-specific knowledge in medical, legal, and financial contexts, and pursue advancement within a diverse, inclusive, and supportive remote work environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Fluency in Sylheti and English with strong cultural competency and ability to assess regional and accent differences
- • Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to ensure high accuracy during interpretation
- • Ability to remain neutral, objective, and detached during sensitive conversations, including end-of-life, medical, and gender-related topics
- • High school diploma or equivalent; education or experience in teaching, translation, or interpretation preferred
- • Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future
- • Access to a dedicated personal device (Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS, iPadOS, or Android) and a quiet, secure workspace with high-speed internet (5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload)
