📋 Description

• As a System Engineer (Bare Metal) working remotely from LATAM, you will play a critical role in supporting a European deep-tech company’s mission to build a decentralized, energy-efficient alternative to traditional cloud providers by managing and automating large-scale bare-metal infrastructure.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining Linux-based systems (Debian/Ubuntu), working at the hardware level with BIOS, IPMI, and RAID, designing and managing scalable networks using VLANs, routing, and UniFi equipment, automating provisioning with Ansible, Bash/Python, and GitOps, and setting up observability stacks using Prometheus/Grafana and ELK/Graylog.
• You will join a fast-paced, autonomous engineering team at a forward-thinking European SaaS company focused on sovereign, high-performance compute for modern workloads, where innovation and problem-solving are highly valued.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in bare-metal automation (MAAS/Ironic), infrastructure as Code, and hybrid cloud-edge systems, while contributing directly to the evolution of decentralized cloud infrastructure and gaining experience with OpenStack, Proxmox, container orchestration, and API-driven resource tracking.

🎯 Requirements

• Expert-level Linux administration (preferably Debian/Ubuntu)
• Strong MAAS / Ironic / bare-metal automation experience (mandatory)
• Excellent networking fundamentals: VLANs, routing, VPNs
• Infrastructure as Code (Ansible), scripting (Bash/Python), GitOps
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Graylog
• Proven experience with OpenStack, Proxmox, VMware, and container orchestration
