📋 Description

• System Engineer (Bare Metal) role focused on maintaining and supporting core infrastructure systems for a European deep-tech company building a decentralized, energy-efficient alternative to traditional cloud providers.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include managing Linux-based systems (Debian/Ubuntu), working with BIOS/IPMI/RAID hardware, designing scalable networks with VLANs and UniFi equipment, automating provisioning via Ansible/Bash/Python, and maintaining observability stacks using Prometheus/Grafana and ELK/Graylog.
• The team operates within a fast-paced, autonomous environment at a European SaaS company pioneering sovereign, high-performance compute on distributed bare-metal infrastructure across multiple sites.
• You will gain deep expertise in Metal-as-a-Service (MAAS), infrastructure automation, and hybrid cloud-edge systems while contributing to a mission-driven project shaping the future of decentralized cloud infrastructure.

🎯 Requirements

• Expert-level Linux administration (preferably Debian/Ubuntu)
• Strong MAAS / Ironic / bare-metal automation experience (mandatory)
• Excellent networking fundamentals: VLANs, routing, VPNs
• Infrastructure as Code (Ansible), scripting (Bash/Python), GitOps
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Graylog
• Proven experience with OpenStack, Proxmox, VMware, and container orchestration
