- • The Systems Admin Specialist II at NerdWallet plays a critical role in maintaining the stability, scalability, and security of the organization's technology infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations across identity, endpoint, cloud, and networking systems.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include administering identity platforms (Okta), managing user lifecycle automation, maintaining corporate IT infrastructure (networks, servers, firewalls, cloud services), managing endpoints (Jamf, Intune), enforcing SOX compliance, building automation to reduce manual toil, evaluating emerging technologies (including AI/ML), creating technical documentation, and collaborating with Security, DevOps, HR, and other teams on infrastructure improvements.

- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in enterprise identity and endpoint management, gain hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), strengthen automation and scripting skills, contribute to compliance and security initiatives, and grow into a trusted technical advisor influencing infrastructure strategy across the organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- • Proven experience with enterprise-scale implementations of IdP/SSO concepts (SAML/OAuth), provisioning (SCIM/JIT), and platform administration (Okta)
- • Proven experience with MDM platform administration (Jamf, Intune)
- • Functional understanding of security principles (least privilege, secure design, data protection)
- • Experience with automation using code and no-code tools (Okta Workflows, webhooks, APIs, AWS Lambda/Cloud Functions, Python, Bash/ZSH, PowerShell)
- • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and version control (Git, GitHub)
- • Strong technical verbal and written skills and ability to produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation
- • Ability to build a project plan and carry it to completion without oversight
- • Experience with change management and helping to define team processes, procedures, and best practices
- • Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
