  • • At Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG), we are driven by a powerful mission: to help people and their pets when they need it most by revolutionizing the emergency veterinary experience. Since our inception in 2014, we have experienced rapid growth, establishing hospitals nationwide that operate 24/7/365. Our success is built on a foundation of innovation, challenging norms, and creating an exceptional ER experience tailored to the needs of pets and their parents. This commitment extends equally to our people, our VEGgies, where we strive to say 'YES' to empower them to achieve great things, foster unexpected growth, and cultivate a true sense of belonging.
  • • The VEG Headquarters (VQ) team plays a pivotal role in this mission. We are the engine behind our operational excellence, whether we are developing cutting-edge technology to enhance hospital efficiency, recruiting and nurturing incredible VEGgies, or amplifying our brand through strategic marketing. Our team ensures that our hospitals and our people have all the resources and support necessary to provide unparalleled care to pets and their families. VEG is proud to be a certified Great Place to Work® for 2025, a testament to our people-first culture.
  • • This specific role, Talent Manager for the West Region, embodies our 'find a way to say YES' philosophy by focusing on attracting and hiring top-tier talent across the West Coast. You will be instrumental in building and strengthening our high-performing hospital teams through a proactive, relationship-driven recruiting strategy. Collaborating closely with hospital leadership, your primary objective will be to attract exceptional Veterinarians, Technicians, Assistants, and other vital team members who not only possess the required skills but also deeply resonate with VEG’s mission and values.
  • • Reporting directly to the Regional Director of Talent Acquisition, you will spearhead hiring initiatives across multiple hospitals. This involves developing bespoke recruitment plans tailored to the unique needs of each location, and importantly, training and empowering hospital leaders to effectively scale our high-touch approach to talent acquisition. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying strategic talent pools, sourcing candidates who align with our culture, managing the candidate journey through a thorough mutual assessment process, and guiding them seamlessly through the offer stage.
  • • You will be expected to act as a strategic thought partner to the broader Talent Team and hospital leadership, anticipating and responding to the ever-evolving talent needs of the organization. This requires a deep understanding of industry best practices, the cultivation of diverse relationships and networks, and the ability to execute cross-functionally with precision. Building and sustaining a creative, relationship-based approach to talent acquisition, leveraging multiple channels and diverse talent pools, will be a cornerstone of your success.
  • • Furthermore, you will cultivate and maintain robust relationships with key internal stakeholders across the organization, as well as with external vendors. Attending industry conferences will be an integral part of your role, providing opportunities to connect with and attract top talent from various sectors, including veterinary, retail, and hospitality. A key aspect of this role is the continuous drive for process and technology improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within our recruitment landscape. You will be responsible for developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure success across your designated region, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
  • • In addition to your recruitment responsibilities, you will also play a role in mentoring and guiding team members within your region, fostering their personal growth and professional development. This leadership aspect ensures a cohesive and high-performing talent acquisition function that supports VEG's ambitious growth objectives. Your ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and bring an energetic, self-starting attitude will be essential for thriving in this dynamic environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on VEG's growth and culture by shaping the teams that deliver our critical services.
