- • Manage all aspects of corporate tax compliance for Shield AI, Inc., including federal, state, and local tax filings across multiple jurisdictions in the U.S. and internationally.
- • Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and uncertain tax position analyses in accordance with ASC 740.
- • Lead the preparation and submission of federal and state corporate income tax returns, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to evolving tax regulations.
- • Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to support annual audits, tax examinations, and inquiries from taxing authorities.
- • Analyze the tax implications of global operations, including cross-border transactions, transfer pricing documentation, and foreign tax credit claims.
- • Monitor changes in U.S. and international tax laws and assess their impact on Shield AI’s tax strategy, reporting, and financial planning.
- • Support tax planning initiatives related to corporate structure, mergers and acquisitions, and international expansion into Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
- • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions, contracts, and new product launches.
- • Maintain accurate and organized tax records, documentation, and workpapers for internal controls and audit readiness.
- • Develop and implement tax automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce manual errors in tax reporting workflows.
- • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders on tax-related matters, providing clear guidance and training on tax obligations and best practices.
- • Assist in the preparation of tax disclosures for financial statements and support SEC reporting requirements as applicable.
- • Participate in the annual budgeting and forecasting process by providing tax-related assumptions and projections to the Finance team.
- • Ensure compliance with global tax reporting standards, including Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) and other OECD BEPS initiatives where applicable.
- • Stay current on emerging tax technologies and tools to modernize the tax function and improve data integrity across systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or related field; CPA license preferred
- • Minimum of 8 years of progressive tax experience, including at least 3 years in a corporate tax environment
- • Expertise in U.S. federal and state corporate income tax compliance and planning
- • Experience with international tax matters, including cross-border transactions and transfer pricing
- • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., Vertex, OneSource, or similar) and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP)
- • Strong understanding of ASC 740 and SEC reporting requirements
