Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Adyen is a leading financial technology platform, providing a unified solution for payments, data, and financial products to global giants like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. Our core philosophy, "engineered for ambition," extends to our team, where we foster an environment of growth, support, and ownership, enabling individuals to truly shape their careers.
  • • We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Team Lead for Business Development to be based in Berlin, focusing on Central and Northern Europe. This role is not merely managerial; it requires a 'builder' who can both inspire a team and architect effective Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies. You will be instrumental in shaping the commercial success of Adyen across the DACH, CEE, and Nordics regions, markets demanding tailored approaches and meticulous execution.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to lead and develop a high-performing team of nine Business Development Representatives (BDRs). This involves more than just monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); you will actively coach your team, dissecting sales calls, refining their commercial acumen, and guiding them to transition from BDR roles into successful closing positions. You will foster a culture where BDRs are empowered to "create their own path" to success.
  • • As the "GTM Engineer" for your designated region, you will take ownership of optimizing the sales engine. This includes collaborating closely with the RevOps team to enhance lead routing mechanisms, refine data enrichment processes, and improve dashboarding capabilities. When processes are suboptimal, you are expected to not only identify the issues but also to implement and engineer solutions, ensuring a seamless and efficient operational flow.
  • • A critical aspect of this role is developing strategic forecasting capabilities. You will work in close partnership with Sales, Marketing, and Product Marketing teams to craft and adapt our GTM strategy for each specific vertical within the DACH, CEE, and Nordic markets. Your foresight will be crucial in identifying emerging trending sectors before they become widely recognized, providing Adyen with a significant competitive advantage.
  • • You will champion a data-driven approach to sales development, embedding a culture of A/B testing within your team. By leveraging data, you will refine messaging, optimize targeting strategies, and ensure that qualitative feedback from BDRs is effectively integrated with the quantitative insights derived from our systems. This dual perspective is key to continuous improvement.
  • • Effective cross-border collaboration is paramount. You will champion Adyen's "Global License to Operate," ensuring your team works harmoniously with Industry Leads, Heads of Sales, and Country Managers. Adherence to our established rules of engagement and maintaining impeccable Salesforce hygiene are non-negotiable requirements for operational excellence.
  • • This role demands a leader who understands the intricacies of sales operations and can translate market signals into actionable strategies. You will be responsible for analyzing market trends and account data to prioritize outreach efforts, moving beyond guesswork to data-informed decision-making. Your ability to articulate the 'why' behind strategic choices will be essential.
  • • Adyen is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. We believe that our unique challenges are best solved by a diverse range of voices and perspectives. We encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply and be their true selves. We recognize that underrepresented groups may hesitate to apply if they don't meet 100% of the qualifications, and we strongly encourage you to reconsider and apply if this role excites you.
  • • Our hiring process is designed to be smooth and enjoyable, with a target response time of 5 business days for applications and an average completion time of 4 weeks. We are an office-first company in Berlin, valuing in-person collaboration and do not offer remote-only positions. Flexibility in the interview process can be accommodated upon request.
