📋 Description

• A Technical Accounting Expert role focused on shaping how frontier AI models reason through complex revenue recognition and lease accounting problems under US GAAP and IFRS, directly contributing to the development of AI systems that require institutional finance expertise.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include designing realistic technical accounting tasks with ambiguous outcomes, writing evaluation rubrics that assess reasoning over conclusions, reviewing AI-generated accounting memos for technical accuracy and disclosure implications, building reference memos and worked examples for multi-element arrangements and lease remeasurement, and identifying where models apply standards mechanically or miss second-order consequences.
• Aptura Inc. partners with leading foundational AI labs to integrate deep finance expertise into AI model development, operating remotely from London and San Francisco with a team of ex-Lazard and Partners Group professionals bringing institutional rigor to AI training.
• In this role, you will deepen your impact by translating human accounting judgment into AI training signals, refine your ability to articulate complex judgements for non-specialists (including AI systems), and help establish benchmarks that define how AI understands and applies technical accounting standards in real-world scenarios.

🎯 Requirements

• 5–8+ years in technical accounting, accounting advisory, a Big 4 national/technical office, or as a corporate technical accounting lead
• Experience writing or reviewing position memos that survived audit
• CPA, ACA/ACCA, or equivalent qualification (preferred but not required)
• Ability to explain judgement calls clearly so that non-specialists or AI models can learn the reasoning, not just the conclusion
