- • As a Technical Deployment Lead for Life Sciences at OpenAI, you will define how the company delivers complex AI systems to pharmaceutical, clinical research, and life sciences customers, translating business outcomes into technical plans and owning end-to-end delivery from prototype to scale.
- • You will own the technical delivery plan for multiple interdependent workstreams, translating business objectives into roadmaps with milestones, dependencies, and acceptance criteria, while running day-to-day engineering execution across OpenAI FDE, Researchers, and Customer Engineers teams.
- • You will embed with customer teams to map workflows, shape tools and integrations, lead onboarding and change management, and drive adoption of production deployments by partnering closely with customer stakeholders to ensure alignment with their goals.
- • You will partner with Product and Research teams to ensure platform components and research workstreams are delivered in time to support deployment objectives, while codifying solution patterns and extracting field signals to improve product and model development.
- • You will own value cases and ROI by setting impact hypotheses, baselines, and KPIs, running pre- and post-deployment measurements, and reporting to executive sponsors, while shaping how OpenAI engages with Life Sciences customers through strategic field insights.
- • You will operate in a high-trust, high-autonomy environment requiring extreme ownership, deep technical project management expertise, and the ability to immerse in complex customer workflows to solve engineering problems at pace, with success measured by measurable customer impact, delivery reliability, operating leverage, and product influence.
- • The role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid work model (3 days in office per week), includes relocation assistance, and requires up to 50% travel to customer sites to accelerate delivery and maintain strong onsite partnerships.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of customer-facing technical delivery leadership experience
- • Expertise in the Life Sciences domain, including pharmaceuticals, clinical research, or related data and services providers
- • Proven track record of leading large, complex, high-stakes customer engagements where outcomes depended on tight coordination and fast decision-making, ideally involving AI or LLM systems
