📋 Description

• As a Technical Deployment Lead at OpenAI, you will define how the company delivers complex AI systems to customers, owning end-to-end delivery from planning to adoption and ensuring deployments deliver measurable value against customer goals.
• You will own the technical delivery plan for multiple interdependent workstreams, run day-to-day engineering execution across FDEs, Researchers, and Customer Engineers, embed with customer teams to map workflows and drive adoption, and partner with Product and Research to align platform components with deployment timelines.
• You will work within OpenAI’s Forward Deployed Engineering team, which operates at the intersection of customer delivery and core platform development, turning research breakthroughs into production systems through close collaboration with customers and internal teams.
• In this role, you will develop deep expertise in translating business outcomes into technical plans, driving 0→1 prototypes to MVP and scale, codifying reusable solution patterns, and influencing product and research roadmaps with field insights—building impact through high-trust, high-autonomy leadership in complex, ambiguous environments.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of customer-facing technical delivery leadership
• Track record of successfully leading large, complex, high-stakes customer engagements where outcomes depended on tight coordination and fast decision making, ideally involving AI
• Expertise in at least one major sector (e.g., healthcare, energy, financial services, semiconductors, IT) to elevate solution framing and credibility
