- • Join ALSO., a dynamic electric mobility company originally conceived as a part of Rivian, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of small EVs. As a Technical Program Manager for Hardware Platforms, you will be instrumental in the end-to-end development of critical module platforms, including powertrain, low voltage electronics, and chassis, for our innovative vehicle products. This role is crucial for delivering best-in-class small electric vehicles by ensuring seamless integration and execution across complex hardware systems.
- • In this multifaceted role, you will orchestrate the entire lifecycle of hardware projects, from initial concept and prototyping through engineering validation testing (EVT), design validation testing (DVT), production validation testing (PVT), and final launch. You will collaborate closely with product managers, hardware engineers, firmware engineers, supply chain specialists, and a diverse array of cross-functional teams to bring sophisticated, electromechanical modules and platform technologies to life across multiple vehicle product lines. Your day-to-day will involve meticulous planning of requirements, proactive identification and mitigation of risks, rigorous management of project schedules including critical build phases, and decisive action to remove development roadblocks. Effective and clear communication with all cross-functional partners across the organization will be paramount to your success.
- • A significant aspect of your responsibility will be to drive the planning and successful implementation of customer-centric features. This involves working hand-in-hand with cross-functional teams to achieve roadmap goals, diligently tracking progress, performing in-depth risk analysis, resolving complex execution issues, and providing transparent, regular status updates to stakeholders and leadership. You will be responsible for developing and meticulously managing module program schedules, addressing technical challenges, overseeing design release processes, and ensuring adequate resource allocation in close coordination with engineering and other departments.
- • Furthermore, you will be the central point of communication for program progress and status, adeptly managing interactions with stakeholders and leadership located in various geographical regions and time zones. Cultivating and nurturing strong, collaborative relationships between diverse cross-functional teams will be a key focus. Your ability to identify and systematically address the most significant program blockers, coupled with the adaptability to implement lean processes tailored to our organizational needs, will be essential for driving efficiency and accelerating product development cycles.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a company that is redefining local transportation with vehicles that are more affordable, enjoyable, and significantly more efficient than traditional options. You will be at the forefront of innovation, working on products that have a tangible impact on global mobility challenges. The experience gained in shipping products from zero to one, and in scaling a world-class organization, will be invaluable for your professional growth.
- • You will gain deep insights into the intricacies of electric vehicle hardware development, from powertrain and low-voltage electronics to chassis systems. The role demands a comprehensive understanding of electromechanical systems and the ability to navigate complex technical discussions, providing clear decision frameworks to guide development progress. You will hone your skills in managing design releases, developing and executing validation test plans, overseeing build execution, and managing vendor relationships, all within a fast-paced, innovative environment. The opportunity to travel internationally to support builds will provide global exposure and practical experience in managing external manufacturing partners.
- • About the team and company: ALSO. is a passionate team of builders, dreamers, doers, and innovators dedicated to creating entirely new, vertically integrated, small EVs. Our mission is to inspire everyone to ride ALSO, replacing local car, truck, and SUV miles with more affordable, enjoyable, and highly efficient electric vehicles. We are located in the heart of Silicon Valley and have assembled a world-class team from leading brands in technology, automotive, cycling, outdoor recreation, and retail. We are hands-on, working together to imagine, design, and build a groundbreaking solution to global transportation challenges.
- • What you can learn or achieve: This role offers a significant opportunity to be a foundational member of a rapidly growing company, directly influencing the development and launch of cutting-edge electric vehicles. You will gain unparalleled experience in managing complex hardware programs from inception to mass production, developing expertise in electromechanical systems, supply chain management, and cross-functional team leadership within the burgeoning electric mobility sector. Successfully navigating the challenges of bringing new products to market will position you as a key player in the industry and contribute to the scaling of a world-class organization.

- • Experience managing design releases, validation test plans, build execution, and vendor management.
- • Ability to understand technical discussions and provide decision frameworks for continuing development.
- • Clear and sharp communicator, capable of engaging with engineering and supply chain teams, and distilling complex problems into actionable paths forward.
- • Willingness and ability to travel internationally to vendors to support builds.
