- • Lead the evolution of Acorns’ Payments, Billing, and Account Linking infrastructure to support millions of customers and enable global scalability.
- • Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, and Data Science teams to define and execute the strategic roadmap for funding sources, account linking, and billing platforms to unlock new product opportunities.
- • Identify and drive improvements in bank account connectivity experiences, enhancing customer conversion and security through optimized account verification workflows.
- • Develop and implement billing strategies leveraging technologies such as Recurly, Apple Pay, Google Pay, debit cards, and ACH to reduce customer friction and prevent billing issues.
- • Expand Acorns’ money movement ecosystem by integrating emerging payment rails including Venmo, Zelle, and other next-generation financial networks.
- • Optimize backend architecture and customer-facing interfaces for seamless money movement across existing and new payment methods.
- • Treat internal operations as a customer by designing workflow tools and strategies to improve team efficiency in managing payment exceptions and billing inquiries.
- • Lead high-stakes technical integrations and relationships with payment processors, bank SaaS providers, payment vendors, and merchant partners.
- • Apply data-driven analysis to balance security enhancements against customer experience friction, using metrics to guide product decisions.
- • Maintain a customer-obsessed mindset, ensuring all payment and billing systems reflect Acorns’ brand values of trust, simplicity, and empowerment.
- • Own end-to-end delivery of complex payment and billing product launches with precision, ensuring robust financial controls and operational excellence.
- • Drive continuous improvement in account linking systems, including Plaid and manual linking methods, to increase success rates and reduce support volume.
- • Build and maintain sophisticated monitoring systems to detect and prevent blind spots in payment processing and account verification.

🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of Technical Program Management experience in Fintech
- • Strong foundational knowledge of Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit/debit cards, prepaid cards, payment processors, and banking institutions
- • Technical understanding of APIs, SQL, and payment processing mechanics including Plaid for account linking
- • Deep expertise in account connectivity systems (Plaid, manual linking, automated verification) and their optimization for conversion and security
- • Proven ability to use data analysis to evaluate tradeoffs between security and customer experience
- • Exceptional drive, precision in delivery, and passion for Acorns’ mission of financial wellness
