- • Own end-to-end delivery of high-stakes technical engagements with frontier AI companies (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) and government entities including the EU AI Office and UK AI Security Institute.
- • Manage the full lifecycle of government RFPs and opportunity pipelines: tracking live opportunities, scoping new engagements, drafting proposals, and supporting contract negotiations.
- • Serve as the operational backbone for one of the world’s leading independent AI red-teaming programs, ensuring timely, reliable execution across a rapidly expanding portfolio of projects.
- • Lead end-to-end recruiting for the red team: sourcing top-tier technical talent, managing candidate pipelines, scheduling interviews, conducting early outreach and rejection calls, designing work trials, and supporting final assessments.
- • Collaborate with technical leads and red-teamers to refine hiring target lists, identify bottlenecks in recruitment, and improve candidate experience while working alongside the broader org-wide recruiting function.
- • Read, review, and provide feedback on technical red-teaming reports related to AI vulnerabilities, CBRN risks, cyber threats, and agent behavior—engaging credibly with technical teams without needing to perform the work yourself.
- • Draft clear, polished written artifacts including status updates, risk memos, external briefs, grant applications, and policy-facing documents with minimal revision.
- • Program-manage new initiatives such as grantmaking programs, co-working spaces (FAR.Labs), and technical workshops, adapting priorities as the team scales from 2 to 15+ members.
- • Identify operational inefficiencies in throughput, ecosystem mapping of competitors/partners, and engagement scalability; propose and implement solutions to increase team velocity.
- • Organize and support high-level convenings, government meetings, and technical workshops, ensuring logistical and communication readiness across international stakeholders.
- • Act as the primary point of contact for engagement execution, balancing competing demands across government, lab, and internal team priorities while maintaining confidentiality and strategic alignment.
- • Operate with autonomy in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where priorities shift weekly; take ownership of outcomes—not just tasks—by proactively addressing risks and gaps before they escalate.
- • Contribute to technical writing and analysis across red-teaming domains: CBRN, cyber, AI control, alignment, and open-weight model risk management, supporting research roadmaps and public risk disclosures.
- • Adapt role responsibilities dynamically based on team needs, personal strengths, and emerging priorities, embracing behind-the-scenes work with low ego and high impact orientation.
- • Travel up to once per month for in-person convenings, government briefings, or team gatherings, with logistics supported by FAR.AI.
- • Maintain strong written communication standards for internal coordination, external outreach, and documentation of engagements to ensure reproducibility and transparency.
- • Support strategic growth of the red team by aligning operational capacity with ambitious 2026 goals: delivering red-teaming within days/weeks of frontier model releases and expanding global evaluations.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of program or engagement management experience in a high-velocity technical environment (e.g., frontier AI labs, AI safety organizations, technical consultancies, government program offices, or scaling technical startups).
- • Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-party technical programs under hard deadlines with demonstrable judgment calls and ownership of trade-offs.
- • Comfort with technical substance: ability to read and interpret red-teaming/security reports, engage credibly with engineers/researchers, and understand AI vulnerability domains without being a practitioner.
- • Experience running or materially contributing to technical recruiting: sourcing, pipeline management, work-trial design, or end-to-end hiring outcomes.
- • Demonstrated ability to draft compelling RFP responses, proposals, or government-facing technical documents.
- • Strong written communication skills with minimal need for editing across status updates, risk memos, candidate outreach, and external briefs.
