- • Provide technical support to assigned Aerospace & Defense customers and distributors on Vespel® product selection, part design, and material properties.
- • Serve as the primary technical focal point for key accounts, contributing to account strategy and execution plans.
- • Analyze part performance issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to resolve customer complaints.
- • Lead or support technical programs to qualify new Vespel® products for commercialization in Aerospace & Defense applications.
- • Coordinate product evaluations, laboratory testing, and data generation to validate material performance under extreme conditions.
- • Deliver technical training and presentations to customers, distributors, and internal teams, including at industry conferences.
- • Develop and contribute to sales tools, product literature, case studies, and technical documentation for Vespel® applications.
- • Author and publish technical papers for industry conferences and trade shows to enhance DuPont’s technical credibility.
- • Translate customer application requirements—including dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications—into accurate engineering drawings, quotes, and delivery plans.
- • Provide voice of the customer (VOC) insights to R&D teams to influence new product and application development.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, marketing, operations, quality, supply chain, and sales teams to drive product adoption.
- • Build deep expertise in end-use applications of high-performance polyimides in aerospace, defense, and related industries.
- • Capture and communicate competitive intelligence and value-in-use data to strengthen market positioning.
- • Support global and regional Centers of Excellence (COE) initiatives aligned with Vespel® business objectives.
- • Drive innovative solutions to customer challenges through improved processes, materials, and technical approaches.
- • Travel up to 50% to Vespel® facilities in Valley View and Stow, Ohio, and to customer sites for on-site collaboration and support.
- • Ensure compliance with U.S. export control regulations when handling controlled technology, technical data, or defense services.
- • Maintain strong, long-term relationships with key aerospace and defense stakeholders to foster loyalty and growth.
🎯 Requirements
- • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
- • 8+ years of aerospace engineering experience with strong industry expertise and established professional networks
- • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally across product, operations, R&D, quality, supply chain, sales, and marketing
- • Proven track record of initiative, ownership, and execution on complex technical projects with tight timelines
- • Ability to travel up to 50%
- • Must be able to access export-controlled technology, technical data, or defense services as authorized under U.S. regulations
