- • Lead the technology team responsible for scaling and maintaining Coins.ph’s flagship mobile application used by over 18 million users across the Philippines.
- • Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle of cryptocurrency trading, electronic money issuance, and financial services features within the app, ensuring compliance with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) regulations.
- • Collaborate with product, compliance, and operations teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical specifications and system architecture decisions.
- • Manage a cross-functional engineering team including frontend, backend, mobile, and QA engineers to deliver high-availability, secure, and performant features on schedule.
- • Drive technical decision-making for infrastructure, data pipelines, and security protocols to support real-time crypto transactions and digital wallet functionalities.
- • Implement and enforce coding standards, code review practices, and automated testing frameworks to maintain code quality and reduce production incidents.
- • Serve as the primary technical liaison between engineering and external auditors, regulators, and third-party financial service providers.
- • Identify, prioritize, and mitigate technical debt while balancing rapid feature iteration with system stability and regulatory audit readiness.
- • Monitor system performance metrics and lead incident response for critical outages affecting user transactions, fund transfers, or account access.
- • Mentor senior engineers and foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and operational excellence within the technology department.
- • Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, and third-party APIs that enhance user experience, reduce friction in crypto onboarding, or improve transaction throughput.
- • Ensure all systems adhere to the highest standards of data privacy, fraud prevention, and cybersecurity as mandated by BSP’s Virtual Currency and Electronic Money Issuer licenses.
- • Participate in strategic planning sessions to align technology roadmap with business goals, including expansion of financial services beyond crypto trading.
- • Maintain documentation of system architecture, API contracts, and compliance-related technical controls for internal and regulatory review.
- • Lead quarterly technical retrospectives and roadmap planning with stakeholders to ensure alignment between engineering capacity and product priorities.
- • Represent Coins.ph in technical forums, industry events, and regulatory consultations related to digital finance and cryptocurrency infrastructure in Southeast Asia.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience leading engineering teams in fintech or crypto-based platforms with regulatory compliance requirements
- • Deep understanding of mobile application development (iOS and Android) and backend systems handling high-volume financial transactions
- • Demonstrated experience working with central bank regulations such as BSP’s Virtual Currency and Electronic Money Issuer licenses
- • Strong track record in building and maintaining secure, scalable, and auditable financial technology systems
