đź“‹ Description

  • • Own and exceed a multi-million-dollar annual sales quota for the HOFFMAN brand across Chicagoland and Northern Illinois, turning this high-profile territory into a showcase of growth and customer success.
  • • Build, nurture, and expand relationships with a diverse ecosystem of distributors, consultants, engineers, end-users, OEMs, MROs, and contractors—often juggling multiple stakeholders and locations within the same sophisticated account.
  • • Craft and execute a data-driven, channel-centric sales strategy that balances short-term wins with long-term pipeline health, ensuring consistent quarter-over-quarter growth and market-share gains.
  • • Prospect relentlessly—identify new opportunities within existing accounts, convert green-field targets, and keep the CRM pipeline populated with accurate, timely updates that give leadership full visibility into territory momentum.
  • • Serve as the voice of the customer inside nVent, translating field intelligence on trends, competitive moves, and emerging needs into actionable feedback that shapes product roadmaps, marketing campaigns, and pricing strategies.
  • • Respond to technical and commercial inquiries with speed and precision, coordinating internal engineering, supply-chain, and service teams to deliver solutions that turn problems into loyalty-building experiences.
  • • Maintain an expert-level understanding of the competitive landscape—track pricing, product launches, and channel tactics—then position HOFFMAN’s portfolio of enclosures, thermal management, and accessories to win.
  • • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing on localized campaigns, with finance on contract terms, and with operations on delivery performance, ensuring every customer touchpoint reinforces nVent’s reputation for reliability and innovation.
  • • Leverage Salesforce.com to document account plans, activity histories, and revenue forecasts, turning raw data into insights that guide weekly prioritization and quarterly business reviews.
  • • Champion nVent’s core values—Innovative & Adaptable, Absolute Integrity, Customer First, Respectful & Team-Oriented, Optimistic & Energizing, Accountable for Performance—in every meeting, email, and customer interaction.
  • • Embrace a field-first culture: this role involves nearly 100% local day travel across Chicagoland and Northern IL, with occasional after-hours customer events, trade shows, and training sessions that deepen relationships and accelerate deals.
  • • Contribute to the broader HOFFMAN and nVent success story by sharing best practices in regional calls, mentoring newer reps, and piloting new sales tools or processes that scale across the organization.
  • • Drive continuous improvement: analyze win/loss data, refine call patterns, and experiment with new messaging or channel programs that keep the territory ahead of market shifts and customer expectations.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of outside sales experience in industrial, agricultural, irrigation, commercial, or building-products industries, ideally selling through a two-step distribution model.
  • • Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding multi-million-dollar annual quotas.
  • • Proficiency with Salesforce.com or a comparable CRM to manage complex pipelines and forecast accurately.
  • • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel daily throughout Chicagoland and Northern Illinois, including occasional evening customer events.
  • • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of experience and education accepted.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Total target cash compensation of $101,400–$188,300 (Region A), combining base salary and uncapped sales incentives when annual goals are achieved.
  • • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability, and critical-illness insurance for eligible employees and their families.
  • • 401(k) retirement plan and employee stock purchase plan, both featuring company matching to accelerate long-term wealth building.
  • • Tuition reimbursement, paid caregiver and parental leave, back-up care services, paid volunteer time, and a robust well-being program.
