📋 Description

• As the TRAM Lead at Sphere Labs, you will serve as the critical bridge between deep tax domain expertise and AI/engineering teams, overseeing the development and validation of the AI-driven tax engine that automates global trade compliance.
• You will act as the internal subject matter expert on indirect taxes (sales tax, VAT, GST), serve as the primary liaison between Tax, Engineering, and Product teams, contribute to taxonomy design for tax data, and provide expert feedback on TRAM-generated determinations and monitoring results from day one.
• Over time, you will manage and oversee a team of TRAM trainers who collect expert feedback to fine-tune the AI model, partner with product leadership to define roadmap priorities for expanding into new tax domains like input tax, withholding, and tariffs, and develop scalable frameworks for representing complex tax logic across 190+ jurisdictions.
• You will join a small, high-impact team backed by a16z and YC with $21M in Series A funding, where everyone owns a domain that would require a full team at a larger company, working five days a week in the San Francisco HQ to build the future of automated tax compliance at millisecond latency and zero downtime.

• Deep understanding of compliance processes, reconciliations, and controls
