  • • Implement CareSource’s strategy to build and maintain relationships with Federally Recognized Tribes, Urban Indian Health Programs, and Indian Health Services within Nevada’s Medicaid service area.
  • • Serve as the primary point of contact for Tribal communities and Urban Indian Health Programs in Nevada, ensuring culturally responsive engagement and collaboration.
  • • Conduct outreach visits to federally recognized Tribes and Tribal Health Centers to identify key stakeholders and initiate partnerships.
  • • Schedule and facilitate regular meetings with Tribal representatives and internal stakeholders to address community health concerns and strategic priorities.
  • • Promote CareSource’s health services and programs designed to improve physical and behavioral health outcomes for American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities.
  • • Develop and distribute educational and awareness materials tailored to AI/AN populations and tribal health systems.
  • • Deliver training and technical support to CareSource staff, network providers, and other stakeholders on tribal health systems, cultural competency, and regulatory requirements.
  • • Collaborate with tribal-cultural and prevention programs to expand public health and behavioral health services in alignment with community needs.
  • • Communicate critical issues, concerns, or policy impacts related to Tribal and Urban Indian Health Programs to department leadership.
  • • Actively participate in internal committees, workgroups, and external taskforces including Government Relations and Medicaid Leadership Team.
  • • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations affecting tribal affairs and Medicaid policies.
  • • Support business development initiatives by collaborating with regional leaders and cross-functional departments to advance corporate strategic goals.
  • • Represent CareSource at strategic meetings and forums to disseminate organizational values and align tribal engagement with company objectives.
  • • Stay current on national healthcare trends, legislative changes, and economic factors impacting tribal health programs and AI/AN community wellbeing.
  • • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of improving health outcomes for AI/AN populations in Nevada.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience in public health, public policy, or a related field
  • • Minimum of three (3) years of health plan experience with AI/AN tribal entities and programs
  • • Experience working with Indian Health Services, Tribal Health, or Urban Indian Health Program delivery systems
  • • Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and verifiable insurance; willingness to undergo driver’s license record check
  • • Must reside in Nevada; position requires regular travel exceeding 50% of time within the state
  • • Knowledge of government-to-government relationships between states and sovereign tribal nations
