- • The Underwriter II role at Globe Life Insurance is responsible for evaluating life insurance applications to determine risk classification and policy disposition in accordance with established underwriting guidelines, playing a critical role in ensuring sound risk assessment and supporting the company’s mission to help Make Tomorrow Better.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting comprehensive risk assessments of life insurance applications, interpreting medical terminology and prescription data, utilizing the Swiss Re Underwriting Manual, analyzing MIB reports, motor vehicle records, laboratory results, paramedical exams, and medical records, addressing customer service inquiries, reviewing attending physician statements, evaluating medical information for policy changes, and contributing to team development through training and mentorship.

🎯 Requirements
- • High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred
- • 1-2 years of experience as an Underwriter trainee or Jr. Underwriter
- • Must be actively pursuing the LOMA Underwriting (UND) designation; LOMA 280 & 290 strongly recommended within 1 year, and pursuit of FMLI recommended
- • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills
