📋 Description

• The Underwriting Team Assistant I plays a vital role in supporting the underwriting function by ensuring accurate policy processing, timely invoicing, and proactive issue resolution for new and renewal accounts, directly contributing to operational efficiency and agent satisfaction.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include evaluating policies, endorsements, audits, and cancellations for discrepancies; processing policy servicing requests; managing file and account documentation; invoicing new business and renewal binders; establishing new submissions in clearance systems; producing cancellation and non-renewal notices; maintaining underwriting and suspense files; and maintaining account files per company policy.

• In this role, you will develop deep expertise in commercial multi-line underwriting and rating, enhance your ability to analyze complex insurance policies, strengthen carrier and agent relationship management skills, and gain proficiency in insurance carrier software and regulatory compliance—positioning you for advancement within underwriting or insurance operations.

🎯 Requirements

• One year of wholesale insurance experience
• State specific Insurance License
• Experience as an underwriting clerk or three years of general insurance experience
• Ability to understand and analyze necessary components of insurance policies
• Knowledge of commercial multi-line underwriting and rating
• Ability to work with carrier software
• Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with carriers and agents
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Good written and verbal skills
• Ability to work extended hours when necessary
