Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Shape the future of autonomous maritime operations by crafting the primary human interface to HavocAI’s fleet of self-tasking surface vessels. You will own the end-to-end user experience for mission-critical web applications that allow operators to plan, monitor, and redirect swarms of drones in real time.
- • Architect and deliver high-performance, map-centric React applications that ingest terabytes of telemetry, AIS, radar, and satellite data every hour. Your code will render thousands of moving assets at 60 fps on low-bandwidth links, ensuring that a Coast Guard operator on a 4G tether can still make life-or-death decisions without lag.
- • Translate complex geospatial workflows—route deconfliction, asset hand-offs, target designation—into intuitive, keyboard-friendly interactions. You will run rapid usability tests with naval officers, tug-boat captains, and field engineers, then iterate before the next sprint.
- • Extend and harden our in-house component library built on React, TypeScript, and Storybook. Every new chart, list, or map overlay you ship will be accessible (WCAG 2.1 AA), themeable for dark-ocean night palettes, and reusable across three product lines.
- • Optimize rendering pipelines with WebGL shaders, instanced geometry, and worker-offloaded data parsing. You will benchmark against 100k-point datasets, profile GPU frame times, and squeeze every millisecond out of Deck.gl layers.
- • Integrate REST and GraphQL endpoints from our Rust and Go micro-services, adding optimistic updates, offline caching, and conflict-resolution logic so operators never lose situational awareness when connectivity drops.
- • Collaborate daily with product managers, naval architects, and autonomy engineers to turn white-board sketches into shippable features. You will demo progress every Friday to stakeholders ranging from Navy program officers to commercial tug-fleet owners.
- • Champion a culture of design quality by leading UX reviews, writing RFCs for new interaction patterns, and mentoring junior engineers on accessibility, motion design, and performance budgets.
- • Own the full lifecycle: requirements gathering, wire-framing, prototyping, implementation, automated testing (Jest, Cypress, Playwright), and post-launch analytics. You will instrument every feature with telemetry so we know exactly how it’s used in 6-foot seas at 0200.
- • Travel up to 10 % to naval bases, shipyards, and trade shows to observe real-world missions, gather feedback, and iterate on the spot. Your suitcase will include a ruggedized laptop, a Quest headset for mixed-reality prototypes, and a notebook full of sailor slang.
