- • Serve as a Field Support Representative (FSR) for IDEXX Veterinary Diagnostics, providing on-site installation, training, and technical support for IDEXX analyzers including ProCyte, Catalyst One, and SediVue in veterinary practices across Ontario.
- • Travel extensively to customer locations—averaging 5 or more days per week in the car and 6–8 overnight trips per month—based out of a home office in either the Kitchener or London, ON area.
- • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and clinic staff through empathetic communication, active listening, and personalized support.
- • Educate veterinary clinic teams on optimal use of IDEXX diagnostic equipment to maximize performance, accuracy, and workflow efficiency.
- • Respond to critical customer need visits by providing urgent onsite technical troubleshooting for equipment malfunctions or operational issues.
- • Collaborate closely with Field Sales Representatives and Customer Support teams to develop account strategies, identify customer needs, and implement client-centric solutions.
- • Manage a dynamic and self-directed schedule, prioritizing visits based on customer requirements, emergency clinic needs, and regional events.
- • Adapt communication style and demeanor to effectively engage with diverse personalities, from clinic owners to support staff, ensuring consistent positive customer experiences.
- • Utilize digital tools and platforms for planning customer visits, documenting service interactions, and maintaining accurate records in company systems.
- • Maintain a high level of professionalism, ethical conduct, and authenticity in all customer interactions, reinforcing IDEXX as a trusted industry ambassador.
- • Continuously develop technical and interpersonal skills through comprehensive on-the-job training and career advancement programs.
- • Operate under physical demands including frequent standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 60 pounds during equipment installation and transport.
- • Perform duties requiring close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus when operating or demonstrating diagnostic equipment.
- • Maintain clear hearing acuity to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues via phone and in-person interactions.
- • Travel internationally as required for business purposes, including potential assignments outside of Canada.
- • Work flexible hours, including weekends and weekday overtime, to accommodate clinic schedules and emergency visits.
- • Demonstrate emotional intelligence, persistence, self-motivation, and a positive attitude while navigating the challenges of a fast-paced, field-based role.
- • Represent IDEXX with enthusiasm and integrity, contributing to a culture of learning, discovery, and purposeful work that improves pet health globally.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience as a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) or equivalent
- • Minimum of three (3) years of veterinary clinic experience
- • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
- • Fluency in English; bilingual English and French is required
- • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, including overnight stays and weekend work
- • Comfort with technology including computers, tablets, smartphones, and computer networking
