- • The Vice President of Marketing and Communications leads a team of communications and digital specialists, public relations and marketing professionals, and external marketing/design firms to support the Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin brand internally and externally. This role is critical to advancing the organization’s mission of providing quality, affordable health care, comprehensive education, and strong advocacy to over 60,000 patients annually across 18 health centers statewide.
- • Day to day, the role involves integrating earned, owned, paid, and organic media; developing organization-wide marketing and communication strategies; managing media relations, rapid response, and crisis communication; translating cross-functional strategic initiatives into actionable plans; and overseeing public policy campaigns, organizational advertising, outreach events, and internal communications across departments.
- • The team operates within Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, Inc. (PPWI), the largest and most trusted reproductive health care provider in Wisconsin, committed to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging. The administration offices are located in Milwaukee or Madison, WI, with a hybrid work model offering flexibility and remote options.
- • In this role, the individual can learn to lead high-impact public health advocacy campaigns, refine crisis communication strategies in a politically sensitive environment, build organizational trust across diverse stakeholder groups, and drive measurable impact in reproductive health access and public policy outcomes while growing as a senior leader in mission-driven marketing and communications.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in policy, communications, journalism, political science, psychology or related field required
- • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive communications experience, including roles in public relations, communication, marketing, and executive–level leadership
- • Demonstrated supervisory experience with responsibilities in hiring, training, performance appraisal, and team management
- • Experience with MS365 applications and project management tools/systems
- • Demonstrated expertise in media relations, rapid response, and crisis communication
- • Ability to develop organization-wide marketing and communication strategies
