- • The Virtual Supplement Writer role at The Allstate Corporation’s National General division is a fully remote position focused on creating and auditing detailed damage estimates for first- and third-party material damage claims across auto and specialty lines. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, fair, and compliant claim resolutions that directly impact customer satisfaction and financial integrity.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include possessing strong estimating fundamentals to create or audit estimates of damages on first- and third-party material damage losses of all severities; maintaining a deep understanding of all policy types written by the company to ensure accurate application of coverage; negotiating settlements, making settlement payments, and documenting all activities in complex, multi-line claims files; evaluating settlement alternatives by reviewing regulatory compliance and fair claims practices to determine the best course of action; building and maintaining mastered relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple lines to facilitate smooth claims processing; and providing technical assistance, training, mentoring, and quality control to support team consistency and excellence in estimate writing.
- • The team operates within National General’s claims organization, a specialty personal lines insurance provider backed by The Allstate Corporation’s innovation and financial strength (A– rating from A.M. Best). The company serves customers through a vast network of independent agents and direct channels, offering auto, home, accident and health, and niche insurance products, with a commitment to ethical practices and veteran-friendly hiring policies.
- • In this role, the individual will develop advanced expertise in property and casualty claims estimating, gain deep exposure to multi-line insurance products and regulatory frameworks, and cultivate leadership skills through mentoring and quality assurance activities. Success in this position can lead to greater influence in claims strategy, process improvement initiatives, and potential advancement into senior adjusting or claims management roles within a nationally recognized insurance leader.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong proficiency in estimate writing for first- and third-party material damage claims in auto and/or specialty lines
- • Deep understanding of various insurance policy types and their application to claims scenarios
- • Proven ability to negotiate settlements, document complex claim activities, and ensure regulatory compliance
- • Experience in training, mentoring, providing technical assistance, and driving quality control in claims estimating
- • Excellent communication, relationship management, and customer satisfaction skills
- • Authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided
