📋 Description

  • • As a Medical Visitor (Visitador Médico) at Abbott Laboratories, you will be a pivotal player in driving the success of our Established Products Division (EPD) within the vibrant market of Barranquilla, Colombia. This role is central to our mission of making high-quality, trusted pharmaceutical products accessible to more people, contributing directly to improved health outcomes.
  • • You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive medical visit strategies tailored to your assigned territory, ensuring these strategies are not only effective but also precisely aligned with overarching territorial objectives. This involves a deep understanding of the local healthcare landscape and the specific needs of medical professionals.
  • • A core aspect of your role will be cultivating and nurturing long-term, robust relationships with key physicians and opinion leaders. Building trust and rapport is paramount to effectively communicating the value and benefits of Abbott's pharmaceutical portfolio.
  • • You will be tasked with diligently analyzing performance indicators and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand, such as prescription (Rx) volume and prescription growth (e.g., achieving 100 in DDD and Rx targets). Based on this analysis, you will proactively propose and implement corrective action plans to optimize results and ensure territory growth.
  • • This position offers a unique opportunity to mentor and support new or less experienced medical visitors. By sharing your expertise and best practices, you will contribute to the overall development and success of the sales team.
  • • You will actively identify emerging market opportunities, coordinate scientific activities to engage healthcare professionals, and meticulously report relevant market intelligence to both the commercial and medical affairs departments. This ensures that Abbott remains agile and responsive to market dynamics.
  • • Maintaining an up-to-date and accurate customer database, encompassing physicians, healthcare institutions, and pharmacies, is crucial. You will be responsible for diligently recording all interactions within the company's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, providing valuable data for strategic planning and execution.
  • • Ensuring strict adherence to all company compliance policies, regulatory standards, and quality benchmarks is non-negotiable. You will operate with the highest ethical standards, safeguarding Abbott's reputation and integrity.
  • • You will manage your territory with a strong focus on achieving specific KPIs related to demand generation, aiming for high prescription (Rx) volumes and growth rates. This includes driving the rotation of products and ensuring strong market penetration.
  • • A key responsibility will be to develop and propose strategic activities aimed at increasing market share for our core brands within your territory. This will involve close collaboration with your District Manager, Key Account Managers (KAMs), and the Gun (Group Unit) team, fostering a synergistic approach to market penetration.
  • • You will masterfully apply the appropriate visiting technique tailored to each physician's profile, considering their specialty, specific needs, therapeutic area potential, and the competitive landscape. This personalized approach ensures maximum impact and relevance.
  • • You will proactively identify, propose, and meticulously follow up on business opportunities within the institutional channel. This includes efforts to get our products included in institutional formularies (vademécums) and ensuring proper parameterization for access.
  • • You will be expected to prepare and deliver insightful presentations on your territory's performance, strategic action plans, key priorities, and achieved results, demonstrating your analytical capabilities and strategic thinking.
