📋 Description

• The vMix Switcher Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the technical and editorial excellence of live and recorded productions for SportyNet, directly impacting the quality of sports broadcasts, studio shows, interviews, and digital-first content across linear TV and digital platforms. This position is essential for maintaining seamless, professional, and engaging viewer experiences by expertly managing all switching and production elements in real time.
• The operator will be responsible for operating vMix as the primary live production switcher, executing precise transitions, managing multiple video and audio sources, integrating graphics and replays, and coordinating with production, editorial, MCR, and engineering teams to deliver flawless broadcasts under pressure.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include operating vMix for live programs and sports broadcasts, executing cuts, transitions, picture-in-picture, overlays, lower-thirds, scorebugs, and dynamic graphics; managing video inputs from cameras, replay systems, remote calls, and media assets; triggering commercial breaks and sponsored content according to the rundown; and following director cues with precise timing accuracy.
• The role involves preparing and configuring vMix sessions, templates, and input maps for each production; setting up routing, audio buses, mix-minus, NDI sources, and contribution protocols (SRT, RTMP, WebRTC); collaborating with Engineering to validate equipment, network stability, and redundancy; and ensuring all graphics, media clips, and remote feeds are preloaded, tested, and synchronized before air.
• Close collaboration with producers to understand rundown structure, segment needs, and editorial priorities; aligning with MCR on content ingest, playlist timing, and commercial insertion; integrating graphic elements from the design team; and maintaining real-time communication with control room crews during live shows for adjustments and updates.
• Continuous monitoring of audio and video levels, signal sync, color balance, and overall production quality; identifying and resolving technical issues in real time; ensuring output compliance with broadcast standards for both linear and digital platforms; and conducting pre-show rehearsals and tests to confirm operational readiness.
• Maintaining vMix presets, templates, and operational guides for various program formats; supporting the development of SOPs for live switching, remote integration, and digital workflows; participating in technical evaluations and pilots for new tools or formats; and providing feedback to improve production efficiency and reliability.
• The operator will work within Sportygroup B.V.’s innovative media production environment in São Paulo, contributing to a growing sports media network that delivers high-quality content to audiences across Brazil and beyond. The team values technical precision, creative collaboration, and operational excellence in a fast-paced, live broadcast setting.

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in Broadcasting, Audiovisual Production, Media Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience operating vMix or other live production/switching systems in professional environments
• Advanced knowledge of vMix, including switching, graphics layering, audio routing, replay, and automation
• Experience with NDI, SRT, RTMP, IP-based video workflows, and cloud contribution tools
• Understanding of broadcast standards, signal sync, color, encoding formats, and audio mixing principles
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly during high-pressure live environments
• Intermediate English proficiency for reading technical documentation and communicating with international partners
• Strong communication, teamwork, and situational awareness with the ability to remain calm and make rapid decisions under pressure
